2. Well
Given the lies and weaseling that a Bushie does during the confirmation process, why should a Dem Senator turn up? It's little more than a waste of their time

4. Lugar admitted DURING THE HEARING
that he scheduled it when few Senators could attend.
Asshole. I couldn't believe my own ears. Said he did it to "expedite" the process.

The Kennedy Amendment re bunker buster bombs was on the floor and the CIA hearing was going on at the same time. Don't know what the others had scheduled.

But the jackass actually admitted during the hearing that he intentionally scheduled it to conflict with other senators plans.

It won't be the only meeting on Hughes, though, so I think no real damage.

5. There was no mobilization

At least, none that I could see. The same thing might have happened to Bolton if he hadn't been made such an issue.

11. It's damn well worth getting her on the record!
She was called before the grand jury. Asking her tough questions makes it a perjury trap.

12. Just ahve to inform the committee you were called to testify
Doesn't mean you can't be nominated and confirmed.

Bolton was called but did not inform the committee.
