| Let's face it. Roberts WILL be confirmed. |
|
And it will be a disaster for us. Did anyone expect Bush not to nominate an extremist? With Republicans in control, and Democrats having NO balls, and the threat of the nuclear option, we're fucked.
While the Dems concentrate their energy on Roe v Wade, they'll overlook the most insidious trait of Federalist Society members. They believe that the federal government has no constitutional authority to regulate anything, from environmental protection, drug safety, wages, to civil rights. Abortion is just an issue to keep the nose pickers and mouth breathers as a base.
Unless someone comes up with a picture of this guy in Guckerts bed, He'll pass.

but the Democrats had better wake up to the larger picture of what is at stake. If they wallow around in Roe V. Wade and forget the rest, we need to start looking for new Democrats. They should, absolutely, bring Roe V. Wade to the table - but as you noted, it's just the tip of a very big iceberg - and the focus should be on the iceberg as a whole, not just the tip of it.
