| So, who does Bush think is the most stupid? |
|
His opponents, or his supporters?
Seems to me he assumes his supporters are more stupid than he is. He knows we see through him, so his primary political strategy is to assume his own supporters are too stupid to see it, too. Just as they begin to over the Rove issue, he throws Roberts into the mix, the way one would throw a rock into the bushes to make a gaurd look the other way.
He knows we won't fall for it. He knows his own supporters will. So he laughs at us, for once again underestimating how dumb his own side is.

Okay, Freeps; if you REALLY believe that a man born in Connecticut and raised with mega $$$$$ is only a regular Texas cowboy who loves "the little people," I've got some ocean front property in Nebraska I'd LOVE to sell you.....

| 6. A Connecticut Yankee who grew up practically in New England |
|
Amazing how many people don't realize this. He moved to Texas at four, then started prep school in New England when he was six. He sounds more like a New Englander than Kerry, only he's got that insipid Ivy League voice instead of the masculine bass Kerry has.
In 94 when he ran for governor, his handlers almost never let him speak in public. In 98 when he was re-elected, you couldn't find anyone who knew what he sounded like. They were re-inventing his accent then. Many, maybe most, Texans first heard his voice when he started running for president in 2000. By then he had that fake accent thing he does now, to go with the new-found swagger and hunched shoulders and all.
Want to know where the accent came from? Easy. It's a John Wayne imititation. That's all they've done--he tries to walk and talk like John Wayne. He didn't start that until sometime between 94 and 98.

Bush and everyone around him are profoundly cynical. They are all Chaucer's "Pardoner", who didn't believe a word of his religious utterances, which he used to dupe the "flock". Bush KNOWS his supporters are ignorant; he HOPES his opponents are, as well.
