U.S. NATIONAL DEBT CLOCK
The Outstanding Public Debt as of 18 Jul 2005 at 01:49:06 AM GMT is:

$7,855,147,357,273.32

The estimated population of the United States is 296,553,819
so each citizen's share of this debt is $26,488.10.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$1.64 billion per day since September 30, 2004!
Concerned? Then tell Congress and the White House!

5. Comptroller of the US (who knew we had one?) said Friday
that at the current rate (Gov't income vs. outlays) within 35 years the gov't will only be able to pay the interest on the national debt and nothing else. No highways, no defense, no education or welfare etc.....
Damnit now I cannot find the reference. Any help?
