Poll question: How much of the vote did Kerry get in your home county?
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 09:15 PM by elperromagico
If you're unsure of the percentage, http://uselectionatlas.org/USPRESIDENT is a good source of county-level data. Just go to 2004, look up your state, then scroll down until you see "County Data (Graphs)."

4. If it weren't for Cook County,
a Democrat would have a much harder time winning IL.

If my calculations are correct, Kerry picked up nearly 50% of his total IL vote from Cook County. Bush picked up only about 25% of his total IL vote from Cook County.

Bush won the rest of the state by a margin of 54.2 to 45.0. The vote in Cook County put Kerry over the top.

In other words... thank God for Cook County. :hi:

19. Voters in Queens and Staten Island often vote Republican
Republicans in New York have to be liberal on social issues to get elected though, so ours aren't really like the national GOP. They're the only Republicans in America who have it as a requirement for their job that they march in the Gay Pride Parade every year.

I couldn't stand Guiliani, but I actually don't mind Bloomberg too much. I'm not going to vote for him for reelection, but I won't lose sleep over it if he wins either.

20. I agree
I didn't vote for either. Now we all have to unite behind the dem candidate. As of now I think Freddie Ferrar(sp)is the front runner but I don't think he's doing so well.

17. 81% Kerry - 19% Chimp. Philly rules.
We might be a crude and angry bunch a lot of the time but we do know what's up as far as national politics. Our local politics leave a lot to be desired.

22. Greetings from Clayton County GEORGIA
Kerry 70.5% of the vote in this county.

Gore only got 65% in the previous election.

There are many "blue" places in Georgia.

27. Kerry-Edwards lost my county by only 2%
Wake Co, NC

Too bad Kerry didn't spend much money here and basically wrote off the South. Our HQ was understaffed and our Get Out the Vote efforts were limited.

K-E did win my precinct though!
