"It is beyond dispute that President Bush is not a man of his word."
He vowed--vowed!--that whoever was responsible for the Plame leak would be fired at the very least.

Karl Rove still has a White House office.

Until Rove gets fired, the subject line of this thread should be a DNC talking point.

C'mon Governor Dean. Sing it from the mountains. C'mon Joementum. Be that self-righteous prig you were during the Clinton years.

"It is beyond dispute that President Bush is not a man of his word." Anyone who disputes it should be forced to watch Scotty get grilled by the DC press corps.

1. You forget that Bush is the 2nd savior
and never has made a mistake. Ask any of the Bush cultists.

5. Forget the cultists. There are RINO's who are looking to get off the
train and fundies who will be moved by a bluntly moral theme.

"President Bush is not a man of his word." They can't argue it--they can't.

7. No, he is just mistaken...when he was small, papa Bush
kept saying; "Jesus Christ, will you shut the damn door!"
"Jesus christ, were you born in a barn?"
"Jesus Christ, how can you be so stupid?"

Poor guy thinks he's the Savior!

6. He can snap his fingers and have Karl Rove fired. Why doesn't he do
it? Doesn't he value his integrity?

8. I don't think we can underestimate their ability to rationalize..........
..........although there do seem to be signs that some of them are starting to get uncomfortable with the war, so this is the time for it.

Also think that the DNC would do well do drive that talking point home together with the DSM, since it also goes to his integrity.

Did not keep his word about going to war as a last resort. (Never mind the WMD he promised we would find in Iraq) Now, as you point out, the Plame affair and his promise to get to the bottom and take care of whomever was behind it.

One question though, I haven't read about a "vow" to fire -- only a promise to "take care of ..." The vow bit would be powerful talking point === Can you point me to a link? Thanks!

10. Actually, it was Scotty's Press Briefing on 9/29/03, not B*sh himself:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/09/20030929-7.html

QUOTE:
" The President has set high standards,
the highest of standards for people in his administration.
He's made it very clear to people in his administration
that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct.
If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration."

And later, near the end of the conference:
QUOTE:
" Q You continue to talk about the severity of this
and if anyone has any information
they should go forward to the Justice Department.
But can you tell us, since it's so severe,
would someone or a group of persons,
lose their job in the White House --

MR. McCLELLAN: At a minimum.

Q At a minimum?

MR. McCLELLAN: At a minimum. "

(my emphasis added)
