How do you deal with businesses, restaurants, etc., with TVs on Fox?

For the second time, I've gone to two favorite restaurants and found their bar-area TVs tuned to Fox. This is a new thing -- the TVs were formerly tuned to sports. I've chosen chairs that block the view from my line of sight, and have mentioned to staff that I object to Fox, and other customers might as well.

What do other DUers do in similar situations?

And that is exactly how I say it. If they ask why I tell them because its all a pack of lies that will rot their fucking brain. That too is exactly how I say it. If they turn it off I stay. If they do not I leave and I make sure they know it was because of FOX being aired where there was any chance I might see or hear it.

Our family also asks them to "turn that shit off" whenever Fox is airing. We have done this several times. In each case, the place was fine about changing the channel, and we haven't had to leave yet!

Also, we always make sure we make this request loud enough so other patrons can hear it. Nobody has ever objected either!

There is a restaurant near me that has those little boxes on the table and different TV sets strategically placed around the room so you can pretty much choose what you want to watch and turn the sound up at your own table using the box - mostly for sports stations. They have two "news" stations available - MSNBC and Fox. When we go there, we also ask them to seat us where we don't have to look at the Fox TV even though we can choose not to listen to it - we told them we just don't like looking at the idiots on that channel either.

8. True Story -- How To Win Friends With a Remote Control

The local Citibank (NYC) branch near my apartment installed TWO TVs for people on line to watch, both on Time-Warner cable, both tuned to (puke warning) FOX news channel :puke: off one cable box.

I brought my cable box remote to the bank and, when nobody was looking (I was filling out my deposit ticket) CHANGED THE CHANNEL to Bloomberg News... which is mostly business news.

Here's the payoff: I then went to the service desk, asked for the manager, and thanked "her" for changing the channel from unreliable FOX News to something relevant to an entrepreneur like myself. She gave me a puzzled look, looked at the TV, looked at me, said, "Why, you're welcome."

Here's the DOUBLE payoff -- the person waiting behind me chimed in, "Hey, I just noticed that too, it's a big improvement -- must've been because that idiot Neil Cavuto was badmouthing Citibank a couple days ago."

The look on Little Miss Branch manager's face was priceless -- her eyes were as big as saucers and she was trying to keep her jaw from hitting the ground as she managed to say, "Yes, and I do appreciate the p[ositive feedback."

10. We had that lovely experience a couple of weeks ago.

We were at Damon's Grill in Gilbert, AZ for the first time. It's a sports bar and grill. It was nicely decorated, the food was good, and the young man serving us was polite and working very hard.

So...the problem? Toward the end of the meal I looked over into the bar area and there was the largest T.V. I have ever seen - with FNC playing. It was disheartening to say the least. There didn't seem to be a manager around, so we just decided to take our money elsewhere next time.

I was picking up some architectural plans and right in the City of Phoenix FNC was playing! A government building had FNC playing, I couldn't believe it. I went to the desk and complained and had them change the channel.

I think I'll say that if they don't change the channel, I, a good customer, will have to leave and go elsewhere.

I say, "It doesn't look like anyone's watching this." Then I change the channel to Weather Channel. No one has complained yet.
