I knew no WMD's. I knew it would be a quagmire, I knew it was Rove
How come little old trumad, with just an internet hook up, knew this stuff months, years, before a vast majority of the media and the citizens of this country.

Maybe it's because I read DU faithfully, maybe I follow the blogs, faithfully, maybe I know my way around google and can research the truth about something.

Shit...we all knew around here that the number one suspect was Rove,,,, why? because that's Rove, that's what he does, ... He's a political henchman and the only thing he cares about is keeping his clan in power.

I've got a pretty good track record when I discuss this shit with my friends and family. Before the War I said, no WMD's..I was right... I also said it will be an un-winnable quagmire, I was right... AND I said it was Rove who went after Wilson... I was right.... I'm right every fucking time...amazing isn't it?

14. We knew but were not sure they wouldn't try to smuggle them in
and most were afraid to speak out because, I think, we were afraid they would plant them and make us all look stupid.

6. Not so amazing, you have chosen to use your brain
and not let someone else think for you. The one thing I did say to the freeper types (family & friends) before attacking Iraq? "If you think that we will be greeted with sweets and flowers, and treated as liberators, you are as delusional as your president."

7. They (MSM) knew it too--they just didn't feel they should report it
we must ask them why. even tho we know the answer these whores wil provide--either a cover up or they were just doing what they thought their job was.

Apparently their job is to keep quiet about anything that they might havew to work hard or risk their careers on.

9. You don't watch news that fills your brain with disinformation.
I had the craziest conversation with my mother before the war (incidentally one of the last times we could civilly discuss politics). I said, "I don't think there are WMDs, or if there are any, just a few, not a threat or anything."

She said, "Where in the world do you get your information? He has {insert quoted numbers from Rumsfeld here}"

Me: "Well, I don't buy it. Why wouldn't the inspectors find them? It's going to be a blood bath, mark my words."

Mom: "Blood bath? Hahahahaha! They hate Saddam! The Iraqis going to be throwing flowers!"

TWO YEARS LATER:

"I told you there were no WMD."

"Well. Humph. I don't know how you knew that. The whole world thought there were! The best intelligence in the country thought there were! You just got lucky."

{strangled expletives here}

When I visit her FOX news is on 24-7. Which explains everything.

It's the same with my family and friends.

No one ever admits that they were WRONG and bamboozled.

had tons of WMDs. In fact, most of the rest of the world did NOT think they did.

10. I'm going out on a limb here: Because you have a BRAIN?
Seriously, any of this crazy nonsense was obvious to ANYONE with more than a third-grade education. What's so horribly frustrating is that every day the corporate media tries to tell you stuff that goes against your own COMMON FREAKING SENSE, and what you can easily perceive with your own eyes and ears.

It's like that old, pathetic joke about the wife that walks in on her husband with another woman, and he says, "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?"

13. It wasn't only Rove
There's at least one more leaker out there, and probably more than that. Rove may well be telling the truth, that he didn't know her name and didn't know she was undercover. But if someone supplied the name, THEY knew.

16. I've asked that myself.
I wasn't on DU or any political blogs back in 2000 or 2001. I wasn't even in 2002 or 2003.

But when every single member of the bush administration and tons of talking heads on TV started going into full-court fearmongering mode in 2002 about war on Iraq, weapons of mass destruction, mushroom clouds, could have biological weapons here in 45 minutes, ohmyGod ohmyGod ohmyGod fear fear fear fear fear, my bullshit meter hitting DEFCOM 10.

I KNEW.

I KNEW it was a setup, a lie, a fabricated, illegal, immoral, unjustified war from the word go. It wasn't that hard to see through.

What the bush administration counted on was the American people being fearful enough (thanks 9/11 terrorists!!!!) to allow themselves to be bamboozled into supporting such a nasty illegal war.

And they were! Voila!

I thought I was the only "Merican" that didn't buy the WMD. In fact I didn't even know anyone bought it until 6 moths later when I happened to catch some "main stream news". It was such a non story it didn't even float through my transum. Iraq an unstable quagmire gee fancy that? Thank you, I thought I was alone in the Universe.

20. I'm wondering about next Thanksgiving with the right-wing relatives.
By then even they will know. How do I tell them that it was near impossible to reign in my anger and frustration because I was always at least two years ahead of them because of the net? They weren't ready to listen then. I would have been labeled a liberal extremist if I told them everything I read on DU.

23. A Brave New Logic?
Mac Mac Mac...

Oh I'll agree with you -- SURE there were WMD in Iraq

IN THE EARLY 1990'S!

THEY WERE THERE EVEN *BEFORE* THE 1990'S WHEN RUMSFELD, SENT BY REAGAN, WAS COZILY MEETING WITH --AND ARMING-- SADDAM HUSSEIN! GOOD OLD RUMMY, SUPPLYING ARMS AND EVEN WMD IN THE HALLOWED FOOTSTEPS OF OLLIE NORTH'S "ARMS FOR HOSTAGES"

You happen to know who used WMD (Biological Weapons -- to wit: poison gas) against their enemies the Iranians? You care to guess who supplied it?
Here, for you, I'll supply my source:

http://www.zmag.org/content/print_article.cfm?itemID=2292

But as for WMD in Iraq in the 2000's -- it's common knowledge to all but Neo-CONS that they all were destroyed. Gas was impossible, as was nuclear. And the pathetic "Anthrax" with which Colin Powell destroyed the last of his good name and reputation was believed by oh... about nobody. Outside of you Neo-CONS that is.

You're going to have to come up with some TIMELY and RECENT "facts", backed up with concrete reasoning, logical inference, and you best make darn sure your foolish Dittohead palaver is backed up by firm documentation
-- UNBIASED documentation--

if you wish to post more than a couple dozen hilarious (yet trite) *Turd Blossoms* here!

Indeed, Turd Blossoms by any other name still smell like shit.

You want to debate intelligently? Then welcome to DU! Start thinking, researching, and quoting your sources or you'll be justifiably laughed out of Dodge. Do that, and we'll have a good old time... or, at the very least, interesting.

Mind you, Debate and Intelligent ARE operative words here.
