3. many evacuees are now IN New Orleans
If they're wrong about the path and it hits New Orleans, there could be much loss of life. Many of the evacuees have arrived in New Orleans because elsewhere there is no hotel space. Orleans and Jefferson Parish leaders are not advising leaving the New Orleans area, indeed, it may be a safe haven for others from the east.

Think Positive.

The dice have been rolled, and there is no more time to evacuate New Orleans, so we just need to keep our fingers crossed and hope the eye stays away. The odds are with us.

Stay safe, everybody.

4. Scary storm indeed...
I believe the Northeastern quadrant is the most violent in a hurricane, so Pensacola looks like it could be close to the bullseye.

Everyone in the coastal path of this thing should be getting the hell out of dodge. This storm is apparently intensifying rapidly - at least over the last several hours it has.

Good luck and prayers to all in harms way.
