Dennis takes a W. turn toward Havana
Watching local news/weather in Miami (local channels 100% hurricane coverage) shows real time tracking.

Eye of Dennis is making a westerly jog toward Havana.

Expecting to pick up strength after passing back over water.

A few reports of missing persons in Cienfuegos, something very rare in Cuba because their evacuations to shelters are well practiced and enacted.

1. Oh crikey, that might put New Orleans back in the path later on
it could end up taking out two of our hemisphere's musical and cultural capitals at one stroke :scared:

7. Is it me or do these things look "alive"?
Even the moving radars look very menacing, especially since they name them.

8. Having been through many, yes. They are frightening..
.. because they last for hours and hours.

More scary is that you can follow their track right up to your doorstep and you can't do anything but wait it out (and prepare for the worst, but even that might not help).

9. They are alive.
The worst part is the waiting - you watch and wait for at least a week or more as they develop and grow, and then it's anyone's best guess exactly where they'll make landfall. I'd say I hope and pray that this one weakens before it hits land agian, but it's got a lot of warm water to cover - it doesn't look promising.
