Need help from smart people!
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 12:38 AM by Quixote1818
Does anyone disagree with anything in this article? How reliable is it?

It's old but seems to be holding up to the test of time. It makes some very powerful points about the seriousness of outing Plame and I just want to know if I can use it's information without fear of someone telling me I am full of shit.

If anyone has any better articles that detail the depths of this scandal and the impacts on the CIA please let me know. Thanks

Plame on the CIA.

3. The article is accurate as to factual content, but projections of fallout
are unrealistic, IMHO.

There is TREMENDOUS ability to "manufacture consent", to shape the realities and perceptions of the massses on the issues.

And people have a TREMENDOUS resistance to believing that our leaders act with forethought and malice and unspeakably evil. They do not want to believe that the entire system is THAT corrupt.

One of "From the Wilderness" founder Michael Ruppert's mentors is Peter Dale Scott. Scott writes of this "Deep Politics" phenomena in his books, most notable "Deep Politics and the Death of JFK". Deep Politics is different from conspiracy theory, because it does not focus on one act and several actors and one desired outcome. Rather, it looks at the systemic corruption and the systematic ignorance of the evidence by the population at large.

<Dick Cheney is the President of the Senate, on whose hallowed floor he has just told Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) to “fuck off.” This regime is losing control of itself. The supra-governmental long-term plans that illegally drove them into office gave them a false sense of invulnerability. The money powers that make American presidencies had anointed Cheney and crew to run the country, so they could break as many rules, careers, laws, and heads as they chose – so long as they delivered the right number of barrels-per-day at the right price. They can’t. Having profligately wasted their political capital on torture, budgetary pork, and tax cuts, they have almost nothing left now that they’ve failed their sponsors. > This reminds me of when Cheney said that a successful president is measured by how much gas costs....
