1. The one thing I noticed ...
is the UK pages have words with images and the US pages have images with words.

4. The UK makes statements about the human aspect
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 02:12 PM by MrMonk
The US screams "TERRA!"

In CNN's case, "ISLAMIC TERRA!"
(The MSN page won't download)

Edit: MSN finally downloaded. Their front page also links terror and Islam.

12. FEAR! BE AFRAID!
They are attacking again!
That is how I read the U.S. websites. The U.S. corporate media makes it seem like London and Britain have never dealt with something like this before.
I rarely go to U.S. websites, but I liked the idea of compare/contrast.

11. BBCAmerica is doing an extraordinary job...
No BS, no sensationalizing. If you have it on your cable system, I highly recommend their coverage.

13. UK coverage is Info about the event. US coverage is about Fear.
I am disgusted by the nanosecond it took to skew the story to an American affected perspective. Rather than focusing on the impact to Britain and the underlying causes of terrorism it's all about the personal safety of Americans. Note the poll on the bottom right of CNN's front page. Once again we get oppression by the exploitation of anxiety.

16. Pathetic. Especially when British media is often chided for being too
sensational. They pale in comparison to the US media.

I posted this last night (UK time) when the sites' content was somewhat different than it is now. However, the idea I was trying to express still holds true.
