UK police investigations generally succeed.
Whether it's a serial murderer of prostitutes or children, a TV presenter getting shot, or a knifing at a bus stop, crimes are generally solved.

One thing that I suspect will happen in the next few days is that we'll learn the truth about what happened (just as we did with the Spain bombings).

1. Not always, but the large amounts of CCTV will help
They'd be sorting through large crowds at rush hour, but there may be a good chance of having the bombers on camera.

2. Well, they always find somebody.
It's not always the right ethnic minority, but least it's always somebody.

3. You're thinking of the US.
I can't remember the last time they got the wrong guy in the UK. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen. I just remember more often having the opinion that I'm impressed that they got the right guy after seeming like there were no leads.

4. Depends on your definition of "succeed"
Guildford four.
Birmingham six.
Bridgewater three.
And I presume by TV presenter you are referring to Jill Dando? The wrong man is still inside for that.

8. Don't have the precise details to hand
but he had an alibi. No forensic evidence. This was a carefully planned crime, yet Barry George is, to put it harshly, a moron (IQ of 74). It counted against him that he didn't give evidence in his own defence. The jury weren't privy to the fact that all parties to the case had agreed that he was simply too stupid to give evidence.

And then of course there is MIchael Stone. And Sion Jenkins. And Angela Cannings. And Sally Clarke. English justice has a lousy record in high profile cases.

6. I don't know
I'm still suspicious of David Kelly's death being a suicide.

10. Me too. He didn't commit suicide.
I'm still waiting for the truth to come out.

9. Will they tell us the truth if they find it's not Al Qaeda or Iran?
Or will they cover it up like they do here? Would they dare say Iran did it if they didn't, like they would here? If they find that one of their allies actually did this, would they tell the world? Just askin'.

11. You mean the Brits are going to act like liberals?
Treating this like a criminal investigation? What will Rove think?
