McCain gets tough on terror
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 10:58 AM by linazelle
<sarcasm fully intended>

On NBC, talking about having to take them down, about them wanting to take us back to times when women didn't have rights... :eyes:

They say Jesse Jackson is a publicity hound. They say Clinton is too. But I think McCain has 'em beat--lowlife opportunist that he is.

1. It took you this long to figure that out.
He surrendered whatever remaining respect I had for him in 2004.

7. Me too . . .
The only time I ever voted Republican was in the 2000 Texas primary, for McCain. I knew of his true heroism in the Vietnam POW camp, how he refused release (he was the son of a 4-star Admiral and was offered release) because he didn't want to break faith with the other prisoners. I thought to myself, I might disagree with this man, but I know he will never break faith with me.

2004 put that notion to rest. One forceful word from McCain and the Swift Boat slander would have stopped overnight. He broke faith with a fellow vet, and that kind of trust can't be earned back once lost.

11. yeah, supposedly his best friend and he sided with a guy
who attacked his family. I lost any respect I had for him right there. It's bad enough to turn your back on a friend but to do it for a guy who slandered your own little girl? That's low.

8. Agreed
Meanwhile, has Kerry vocalized his exit strategy plan yet, or is he in this with McCain, "full speed without a head?"

Actually he was talking about his own political party--the regressives--
he just failed to admit it.

Fundamentalists are fundamentalists, really doesn't matter what they call their god.

6. I will believe MCain is tough on terror, or criminals, or ANYTHING
the day he stands up for himself, publicly, and calls GW an asshat and a liar.

Since that won't happen, I do not believe your post, and I refuse to participate in it anymore as I believe you are spreading manure and making things up!

(laced with as much :sarcasm: as I can bleed today) :P

9. Maybe John needs to read Rick's book
Before he starts beating the "women won't have rights" drums, McCain needs to get a copy of Santorum's new book, and look a little deeper into the motives and agenda of the Xtian Taliban.

13. Yep, here we go
"We must take the battle to them, or they will take the battle to us."

So why exactly haven't we been taking the battle to "them" instead of dicking around in Iraq for corporate profits?

14. Well, the Islamic fundimentalists do. So do Christian fundies
Thats what a lot of them want to do at least. They may not say it, but they are implying it by wanting to go to a literal interpretation of the Bible.

The only reason you don't hear Christian Fundies like Falwell and Robertson say it here is because they know they can't get away with it.

Not even their most loyal kool-aid drinking females will tolerate that BS.

16. I heard him a moment ago
Says this is why we must stay & win in Iraq. Brian Williams asked him about the people (us) who support the troups but not the war, & McCain responded that we can best support the troups by supporting the war

Here we go. Yeah, the repukes sure are respecting the dead by not involving politics today :puke:
