Understand, the elites who seek to control the world don't care how many
ordinary citizens of ANY country get killed. The masses are the masses. They are best controlled through fear and loathing of an "other" as an enemy.

The common humanity of the entire world is under threat through the forces of chaos and violence that have been and are being deliberately inflamed.

The true purpose of the "War on Terror" is to set one segment of the masses against another and destablilze governments. They don't want to END terror, they want to ensure that's there plenty of it so that people and their governments are more easily controlled.

I pity ALL the citizens of the world, our common enemy is those who value nothing but their will to power. It is on the hands of these elite where the blood ultimately lies.

Whatever happened to "PEACE" and "DIPLOMACY"

And you know, what is so wrong with sitting at tables with those that detest us and say "What can we do to make peace with you?"

Not for Corp Global Control $$ but for humanities sake. The people of the world, not avengement and revenge. That does mot make our world safer.

Now, we have more innocent blood to mourn.

63. AntiBush
it's more than the money, it's more than the oil, it's even more than "Power"- it is, i believe - at heart, the DESPERATE fear of not having 'control'- and the reality that everyone is vunerable, (even if they have all the money, power, and 'things' in the world-
Death, sorrow, illness and loss come to us all at some time, in some ways- gotta admit money might make it easier to 'run away from' some of this, and may pay for medical procedures most of us could never ever get, - but in the end, or at 3am.- we are all little children in a great big scary world. And death can not be 'bribed' or 'bought off'.

Makes sense. Sadly, so. It's not good times, is it. Not good times at all. The best any of us can do is to not give in to fear, terror and control our reactions to actions.

To me, terror = error.

"big picture" and it spells tragedy for ordinary
people everywhere.
The global elite will not be deterred, no matter
how many of us die in the process.

I'm going to unashamedly ask if you would be inclined to give this a recommendation vote.

That it was good to see a post from you.
I will recommend this thread because
the BIG picture IS the point.
If we do not address the issue of
Global Imperialism then all the discussions
of "terrorist" attacks are pointless.
Between you and me, I consider today's
tragedy to more accurately fit the definition
of guerilla warfare in response to the
military dominance/actions of the global empire.

14. Thank you again. I must respectfully disagree, however, with the label of
"guerilla warfare" over "terrorist". I believe that "terrorism" IS the correct term, as guerilla warfare generally implies a struggle for internal control within a state.

It is the elites who promote the use of "war" framing. What is really going on is that the lowest sorts of human passions are being deliberately aroused, knowing full well that there are many humans who will embrace violence in response.

20. I understand your distinction-
The reason I use guerilla warfare is, in my mind,
the terrorists acts do imply an internal struggle for
control, but not just within a state, rather
within a global empire. In that the global elite
are attempting global domination, I think it
is quite safe to say that these acts of violence
against civilians will increase and know no borders
in a geographical sense.
In other words, "states" as we have always
considered them no longer exist.
I see the whole world as their battlefield now.
No borders, simply a struggle for the balance
of global economy and power.

30. I'm not sure if I can explain myself very clearly. What I see
is elemental HATRED being acted out. It's something inclusive of, yet also beyond geopolitical strategy, it's a basic darkness of the human soul that gets activated and then acted out by those who choose to give into it.

It is a lashing out in anger at the "enemy", a desire to inflict pain, pure and simple.

You are absolutley correct about the stateless nature of this conflict, of course.

13. Can I encourage you to think in global terms?
The assholes you refer to are not running
our country, they are running the world,
or at least attempting to completely dominate it.
As people of the world, not just the United States,
we all need to understand that in the minds of
the global elite, there are no individual countries
anymore, geographical borders disappear in a global
economy fueled by the greed of multi national
corporatists. They don't think of the average
citizens in any country as anything more than
wage slaves, dispensible and without value.
This applies to ALL of us. The Iraqis, Africans,
Americans- they make no distinction among us.
This is what the average American has failed to
understand. US citizens still harbor the delusion
that they are somehow going to escape the
fate of the rest of the people on this planet.
We are not, and our crumbling infrastructure
SHOULD give people a clue, but it doesn't appear to.

Sorry to ramble, but I do want to encourage you
to think in GLOBAL terms; that's how the global
corporatists view all of this, and we must begin
to see world events through their eyes.
WE don't matter a bit to them.

Starting right here at home, I mean.
So many of our fellow citizens are stuck
in "I, Me, Mine" mode- "I'm and AMERICAN and
therefore am entitled to ______ (fill in the blank.)

The people of the planet need to come together
as "WE." I don't see Americans as able to do that.
Most of them can't find other countries on a globe
and are completely ignorant about what American
led corporate hegemonists have done to their
way of life, and most importantly, because they
remain in ignorance, they fail to understand
that is what the corporatists have planned for the
future of the citizens here at home.
It's already started if you ask me.

47. The movement is everywhere, as is division.
In that respect the US isn't that different from the much of the rest of the world.
But the movement is decentralized and uncoordinated, so it can easily go unnoticed or be though of as insignificant. Which is both a weakness and a strength. In a way it isn't really "a movement" in the way we normally think of it, but many small independant movements, all moving in the same general direction.

"a woman made the observation that she believes fear is the ultimate motivator. I disagreed and offered the suggestion that fear is the ultimate de-motivator. It may generate a fight or flight response but neither option is particularly proactive or creative. They do not expand our personal wisdom, advance the evolution of the human species or improve the condition of our environment. Fear is paralysis and anyone who attempts to influence others through the use of fear is practicing a form of oppression that stifles creativity, diversity and rationality."

61. BeHereNow- i couldn't agree with
you, and Scarletwoman more.....

And i'm sorry for the continued pain, and the reality of what is REALLY important that you've been going through-

My kids and i say "I see live people" to situations like this-
When the words come over the radio saying "______ died today" as if they were reporting the Dow Jones report-

i'm going to go off on a tangent here, but your comment made me need to say this to you-

Today i taught a craft class at my 11yr old son's camp- We made "unity sticks" planned a few weeks ago. They were just wooden sticks wrapped with yarn at the tip- green to represent the land then Red, Yellow, Black and White topped with blue for the sky- i told them an african legend about an elder who was approaching death.
The people of his village gathered round him, and he wanted to leave them with a message of hope. So he told all the people to go out and get a stick- then he told them to break the stick in half, which they all did. He told them to go get another stick, and when they had, he said "put all your sticks together" which they did, and then he said "NOW try and break the pile of sticks-" which they could not do. "We are like these sticks, alone we break easily, but together we are strong" Then i taught the kids a song to sing (that went with the melody i had learned as a girlscout, which my son helped me come up with) it goes-
"You are my sister, and you are my brother,"
"We share this earth together"
"We're part of one another"
"Alone, we're weak, together we're strong"
"Please come and help us sing our song" repeat

it seemed so......bizarre singing and encouraging this group of beautiful, children from so many backgrounds (and countries) today of all days...... but i saw their innocence.... and their idealism...
and like you, it broke my heart-

i feel so incredibly discouraged by the 'grown-ups' running this world -who are really wounded kids, turned to bullies, and who do more than
kick, and 'beat up' those who are smaller than them, or whose lives are so full of chaos, that they need to 'control' others, at any cost.

sorry to go off on such a long story- but when you posted your reply, it landed in my heart- and if only for a short time reminded me, how there ARE still many of 'us' out here- and the children of today, are counting on us not to give up-

thank you both, thank you all for still believing

depression chases me relentlessly- but you just tripped him up- for a spell-

love, hugs, and thanks to you, and all the people who 'see living people' through all this dust and confusion.

Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 12:54 PM by suegeo
The nation state died when we got the bomb. Mutually assured destruction meant that the elites could no longer cull the herd through state sponsored warfare, because if we die, they die too. (Isn't there a photo of John Lennon somewhere, where he's wearing a t-shirt saying "War is over."? Hey, didn't he end up getting assassinated? )

Without the nation-state, the elites were no longer sure how to control things. A new system of organization/control needed to be devised.

I think what they came up with was the Corporate State. Which is fascism, if that a-hole Benito M. was correct.

-----

Also, we have been studying how the human mind works for decades. We have been studying group psychology too. But instead of taking what they've learned about us and making things better, they are using the knowledge against us.

For example, Dr. Steven Cambone and his crew at the DoD (aka the war department) studied the "Arab mind" and used that knowledge to devise TORTURE techniques to use on the population. They used the psychology against the people, most of them innocent of any crime. This instance of the DoD's use of psych warfare is on the record. It's not a tinfoil hat thing.

Rather than sit around and pray for a solution, I think we should be taking we've learned about psychology and group behavior and use it to better ourselves. Put this knowledge in the elementary schools. Tell kids that in an emergency, a natural reaction is: you stop thinking, and blindly follow the leader. If you know that this is an expected reaction, you can choose to go with this reaction, or do something different.

That's what I really hate about the elite deviants: They study us, pick us apart, dive into our minds without regard to our privacy, and THEN they use this information AGAINST us.

I've been so sad and angry today -- well, for quite some time, actually, but today made me realize especially that it's always the common people who get shafted. I mean, it's not some fellow on the subway, on his way to work, who is to blame for the occupation of Iraq...and it's not some Muslim shopkeeper, who only wants to feed his family, who is to blame every time jihadist extremists blow people up. It's just so sad...it's really time the majority of us humans -- who don't want to hurt anyone, just to live our lives in relative peace -- stand up to those who would keep us in perpetual fear and servitude, on either side, and make our voices heard. Maybe, if the voices of reason are more clamorous than the voices of extremism and revenge, then the reigns of power may finally be wrested from the hands of the tyrants.

history and identify the nemesis used, by the powers that be to control the masses...

"it's the old wound sire..."

56. liberals against neo-liberalism (also known as Reaganomics...)
"Critics of neoliberalism associate it with globalization, and with the rise of multinational corporations, as well as monetary and fiscal austerity at the expense of social programs."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoliberalism

I hate that anyone calls this anything with the word "liberal" in it. Someone failed marketing 101 who came up with these terms - because they don't make sense. Just like a lot of conservatives would find neo-con views outrageous. Yet Rush Limbaugh - who HATES liberals - no doubt is 100% neo-liberal. It's nuts.

58. I Really am Sick Of People Who Pretend There Is No "Elite"
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 08:28 PM by stepnw1f
What we see now, is nothing but a power game and nobody, nobody but the people on top benefit!

Who pulls those strings? The CORPORATE elite.

60. They just want to return to the good ole days, you know,
The Dark Ages, the days of lords and fiefdoms. Except today the fiefs are the global corporations and the land they hold is the resources and money of the world. The Lords are the Board of Directors of each mega-firm. They are the ones who will enjoy the rewards of the work put out by millions of us cube rats, factory workers and service workers, until we outlive our usefulness. We will be sent out into the streets to die while we are replaced by younger workers.

I wonder who will rise to be the new Emperor in this repetition of history? You can be sure it won't be an American. Those who started this will not be the ultimate conquerors. Of course they won't get this far I hope. At least, there are still sane people left in the world who will derail this scheme of world domination, I hope.

He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

Senior adviser to Bush (aka Karl Rove?) as told to Ron Suskind.
