Why the new Abu Ghraib photos did not happen today
It'll ruin everyone's July 4 celebrations.

Sounds dumb, I know, but can you imagine anyone trying to celebrate with those pics and video in mind? There hasn't been one single mention in corporate media about them that I can see and there is no way to prepare the public for the shock. Who in their right mind could celebrate this country after seeing women and children tortured?

Tom Cruise gets his brows waxed in The Today Show's "Friday Makeover" Feature. Then Cyndi Lauper will describe an obscure but interesting chronic health problem and its treatment.

5. Given the choice,
I hope she sings. I like her. In fact, I have the sense that she might be one who would talk about the photos if no one else was. Not that anyone would listen to her.

Unfortunately, I don't think the photos will be released. Since when has the rule of law or the word of a judge meant anything to these guys, except when it was in their favor?

2. I'm wondering what the ACLU's role is.
Will they simply send the photos to every news source they can upon receiving them, or will they hold the photos until they're ready to present them in their own forum?

3. They should send them
to every household in America. That would be the only way to have the average Joe become aware of it. Otherwise, it's just going to disappear along with everything else that has. Celebrity trials and runaway brides, kidnappings and the like are what is American news now, not what's going on in the world and what we do in it.
