(PHOTOS!) Well-known CONSERVATIVE giving our attackers "hugs" after 9/11!
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 06:25 PM by scottxyz

Bush holding hands with his long-time family friend, Prince Bandar, Ambassador from Saudi Arabia

15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudi.

Anytime a Dem gets on TV to rebut Rove's disgusting comments, they should be talking in front of a backdrop with THIS picture!

Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to ... offer therapy and understanding for our attackers. - Karl Rove, Senior Advisor to George Bush, 6/23/05

(Edited - cropped pictures for clarity.)

Original photos had too much distracting text around them.

Keep this kicked! This really demolishes the ridiculous crap Rove was saying!

True punks all despise Bush. :)

The first planes out of the country, before Americans could fly, were Saudis. I wonder what Jeff Gannon thinks about his butt buddy holding hands with another guy.

They were published in the WP I think? Anyway, my thoughtful hubby cut them out and taped them to the cabinet above the coffee maker that morning. He knew that it would make me "crack up" with laughter. It did! :pals:

http://www.google.com/search?biw=788&hl=en&q=abdullah+bush+holding+hands&btnG=Google+Search

So it's Bush and Abdullah holding hands, not Bush and Bandar.

Thank you for the correction.

Anyway, I am trying to a TV network to buy my game show idea, "Name that Raghead" with Colin Powell or Franklin Graham as host, but they aren't buying...wonder if it's the name? Couldn't sell it as "I.D. the Camel Jockey" either. Next working title is "Who's that screwing you?" Catchy, hey?

Shame on me - getting my Saudis mixed up.

Thank you to Ragnar, RzemanFL and Nonconformist (and any others) for pointing this out!

At any rate, these pics still show who was REALLY giving our Saudi attackers "therapy and understanding" after 9/11.

17. That's the crown Prince...not Bandar.
I can't remember his name. I really chafe at people going after Bush for holding his hand. It may be that the Sauds had knowledge of 9-11, and if they did then any American in the know who had a civil discussion with them should be indicted.

But I digress. Much of this is about the fact they are holding hands. That is why it seems so odd. It just shows the myopic view of many Americans. It is a sign of respect to do that in Saudi Arabia and what Bush is doing there is good diplomacy. Granted, he's doing it with a bad regime, but at least he is being polite.

I just wish he would be so polite in his treatment of the rest of the Middle East.

22. It's not just a "bad regime" its the Saudi Bad Regime...
You know, Saudi Arabia, the home of 15 of the 19 terrorists. Karl Rove accuses US of being soft on the perpetrators of 9/11 while the "war pReznit" holds hands and makes google eyes at his Prince. I realize that we should not make fun of their hand holding, it may be perfectly fine for men to hold hands in Mecca or Castro Street (the Gay Mecca) but for repugs who ridicule any display of affection between two males, it's ironic and, yes, FUNNY to see.
You are correct that not all Saudis should be blamed for 9/11 but, Saudi Arabia's government has some responsibility in funding terrorism. Something * prefers to keep under his oversize Texass hat. Saudi Arabia's complicity in 9/11 will not be investigated while * is in office.

25. He should have held his hand after the ass-whipping.
Really, that is my point. It is proper for a head of state to treat other top officials with dignity and respect according to their own customs. What Bush was doing, while ironic, was actually good diplomacy and the way a president should behave.

He should have also taken that man into the back room and whipped him senseless over the Saudi treatment of women and their half-assed anti-terrorism stance.

Slam dunk that on every liberal blog on the Internet. Email it our Congressional reps. While you're at it, place it every you can think of and add in bold letters Karl Rove's haughty, arrogant and plain ignorantly cruede, cruel, baseless lying statement.

Job well done!
