Poll question: What's the motive behind Rove's ugly smears?
They never do anything by accident. So why DID they send KKKarl out front?

The surprising and frightening aspect is how they forthrightly smear, antogonize and condemn the majority of Americans now. That's why I include choice 4.

3. Distraction.
MJ's trial is over, people have stopped caring about the pretty blond girl, so now we argue about rhetoric doing damage to the troops instead of bullets doing damage to them.

I agree. This is the most frightening thing about them. I think it serves the purpose of making citizens illegitimate based on a political point of view. It may even be paving the way to something much, much worse.

Next election, we better hit those poll booths like never before.

5. Like Nancy Skinner said...to bring back the fears around and during
9/11. Their one shining moment of glory when all was right in their world and approval ratings were ridiculous. :puke:

11. Less than 90 days
to the four year anniversary.

Since we haven't had a "terror alert" since last November, they have to do something to bring back the fears.

They've benefited, exploited and used 9/11 every chance they could — and still are!

15. Funny thing is, Gallup just called me (first time ever!) and asked
if I thought there would be a terrorist attack within the next several weeks.

I truly feel sorry for all of those who lost someone in 9/11...especially those who have yet to realize how that is being exploited. :(

7. they did have someone look at petition on the DSM
They are outraged that SOMEONE would dare question THEM, well, I have a newsflash for them, there is a tribunal convening on war crimes in Iraq and they are not LIBERALS. Maybe Karl, should start reading the International News.

9. I think he misjudged his audience this time.
I just got back from my first shift of "Field Day" - a round the clock radio amateur disaster drill - and this is a slightly "older, more conservative" group - involved in emergency preparedness. And they are pissed. And, that is part of his base.

Back to "DXing" in four hours.

12. Desperation
There is no value in what he said. With dubby's self described quagmire, the rats are in their last throes before bailing on the whole charade. If only someone would get frogmarched to clue them in.

See Rose Siding's thread. Rove is just trying to do what he always does. That's a weakness.

14. I may not be perfect but ykou surely do not want
those weakKneed coddling Democrats in charge of this government.

Republicans see the two parties very differently. They call themselves the Daddy Party--for a reason. This plants the percepttion only
Republicans are strong enough to be in charge of Country. They see Demomcrats as the Mommy Party.---Weaker need the Daddy Party in Charge.

Rove was maintaining this philosphical position. What was not said but really meant. We Republicans may be in trouble at the moment
but there is no way the Democrats(Coddlers of the enemy) can run this country.

Anytime Republicans are in trouble --watch them they go after the Democrats. Best distraction method ever. We do not talk about the problem--which would reflect badly on Republicans. We have
arguments overdistracting issues.

No matter how bad we are the Dems aRE 10 TIMES WORSE. tHEREFORE TALK
ABOUT DEMOCRATS rather the conditions in Iraq.

16. Other: Arab Baiting in preparation for the Invasion of Iran...
Remember Red Baiting during the Cold War?? Remember the Democrats response? "I reject the accusations of my opponent. Why, no one hates Communists more than I do!"

KKKarl is trying to setup the same wedge that passed the Iraqi War Resolution: Either back us or explain your "Soft on Terror" stance to the voters.
