2. how do I get a decent looking site that lets folks sign up for a news letter or action alerts - reasonably cheaply. I can do blogging and a little html programming, but am no pro at this stuff.

You need to find some J.M. enthusiasts who will have a wealth

of positive info on him.

You could start out small, under construction, with some basic info

and maybe an online petition to start building support.

You could also just find somebody who is really into it and

turn the whole thing over to them.

Keep this kicked up for a while so more people will see it

4. Do you have a host?

dreamhost.com has a $9.95 hosting deal with 20GB transfer, 200 MB space, 20 email accounts and 5 FTP accounts.

You could probably scrounge through McCain's old campaign stuff and retool it for your purposes. It would be difficult to blog on this topic (at least from my limited perspective) because McCain isn't very active, so not much to say. If you start getting a reasonable amount of traffic, you can then add in a guestbook like feature so people can express their reasons why McCain should be a candidate opposing Bush for the Republican nomination.

Then let it grow from there.

It's just a first draft, but I have to say, I'd rather of McCain than bush.
