Rosemary's Baby and Billy GRAHAM
Mark one end of the pendulum swing regarding religion as 1968, when “Rosemary’s Baby” used as a prop a Time Magazine cover that blared, “Is God Dead?”

Who would have guessed that today, both Time and Newsweek, network anchors, and cable yakkers are hog wild over organized relgion as the new “in” thing.

Today on the IMUS circus, Time general manager John MEECHAM was peddling his interview with Billy GRAHAM, saying such things as, “He is what God looks like--white hair, blue eyes.” He didn’t even get the irony when he took a jab at his competitor, saying, “Even Newsweek has discovered that there is such a thing as ‘Christians’.”

This from somebody who had just said God is white-haired and blue-eyed. And that running covers with Jesus on them four times a year sells lots and lots of magazines.
