On Rumsfeld and "we are winning"

Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 05:15 PM by nadinbrzezinski

that we were winning in Viet Nam as well...

Or... Lord Acton? I Know the reference is really obscure to you MoFo... he said the same things to Parlaiment in the 1920s

Now McNamara lived long enough to ahem admit, you know what I think Ellsberg was right... Lord Acton did not... but let me seee how did Nam end? Did yuo miss the choppers over the US Embassy at Saigon? How did the British Misadventure end in Iraa? Took a little longer, unless you add the fight against the French in Viet Nam as well... but in the end the brits also left... they got tired of the explosive laced candies you know. (That was in 1955... I am sure the grandparents of some of the Guards in Iraq remember that deployment well... the Regiments have had families serving consistently over the centuries)

So I hope you have the years to realize, assuming you will be able to, I doubt it... we made a mistake.

Oh and it is our kids paying for it... when are your kids joining the line infantry to fight tnis war?

1. "We are winning" JUST GET THAT STATEMENT OUT THERE!
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 12:42 PM by Zinfandel
For the nightly news!

Where's the proof? How can one measure it? What bullshit!

Just make the statement and enough people will believe its true.

And it gives the right-wing talking heads something to run with. Keeping the republican sheep all snug in their beds and justifying the illegal invasion in their minds.

And a headline quote at the top of the hour news, To distort any truth or rebuttal.

That's the way Rove & the republicans play their lies out for the media.

4. Did you hear Rummy compare his unpopularity with Lincoln's?
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 01:11 PM by glarius
When Sen. Kennedy critisized him and asked him to resign, he actually was trying to draw a parallel between those who were unhappy with Lincoln and George Washington with himself!....What a joke!

5. Don't blame Rummy. He is just doing what Nitze taught him via Wolfy.
:sarcasm:
