Shame on you if you fool me once
shame on me if you fool me twice.

What I don't get: The letter from Conyers with all the signs of brave americans in that he wants answers from G.W. Bush to the issue DSM- what do we expect?

Till now there was no reaction.

But if they were liars, as I suppose, how can we expect now the truth?

And isn't their refuse to answer evidence enough?

1. Only response you can expect is a new Rove smear campaign.

2. The shady ones always hide in the shadows
It hurts perpetual liars to tell the truth, they are only in it for themselves. They care about nothing but their own material gains and needs.

I don't think Bush will ever acknowledge the things he did, its his ego that rules him and there is nothing in the world that will make him overcome that.

5. This hurting...
maybe it's the reason for cognitive dissonance and , I don't know the exat phrase, emotional amourplating with fear-resitance-effect?

6. You could be right
There is a good book by Bruce Bauer that talks about religious fundamentalism. It has a part in it about politics that is worth reading. It's called "Stealing Jesus: How Fundamentalism Betrays Christianity."
It really gives and insight into how these people think. Also Al Franken's book "Lies and the Lying Liars that Tell Them." very good read.

I really don't know what coginitive dissonance is but I have an idea of what it is, however I am not sure what emotional amourplating is unless it has something to do with one's ego?

3. This isn't the first time they've used the "ignore" button...
It's just the first time that they've hit it and the issue has still come to their door. They did a really good job of ignoring this one actually. Usually the associated Press doesn't respond to the red phone, but this time even THEY dropped the ball.

Now it's all up to Scott mcClellan to treat the DSM memo like a UFO and blame it on weather balloons, marsh gas, pie plates in the atmosphere, whatever he can to distract from the facts. The key is persistance. I think Rep Conyers has that. Tenacity is a hard thing to quash.
