EXPOSED: Conservative media mogul's secret ties to Kim Jong Il.
Folks, Moon has done what he wanted with the USA. He has us headed right and theocratic. While we are still not seeing who is behind our nation's political direction, Moon's moving on to do the same with the planet.

The ONE journalist who is reporting on Moon, John Gorenfeld, has joined with the America Prospect for a must read piece on some of the ties between Moon and North Korea.

Dear Leader’s Paper Moon

The Washington Times considers North Korea a “gulag state.” But funny thing: The paper’s owner considers it a great place to do business. ...

“(The Reverend Sun Myung) Moon’s speeches foresee an apocalyptic confrontation involving the United States, Russia, China, Japan, and North and South Korea, in which the Moon Organization would play a key role. Under these circumstances, the subcommittee believes it is in the interest of the United States to know what control Moon and his followers have over instruments of war and to what extent they are in a position to influence Korean defense policies.”
-- U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee report, “Investigation of Korean-American Relations,” October 31, 1978

Several years ago, the communist dictator of North Korea decided to send a birthday gift to a special friend. The gift was a rare ginseng root, and the recipient, given the ideology of the sender, may seem at first blush to be a surprise: the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, self-proclaimed messiah and proud owner of Washington’s flagship right-wing newspaper, The Washington Times.

Their relationship, in fact, is based on more than the exchange of baubles. ...

much more...

for additional information on how Moon came up with the spare change for his manipulations of the planet read sections #45-51 here.

For information on the "New York Channel" our nation's conduit for face to face meetings with North Korea, please read this.

6. From US News and World Report 1989
quoting:

U.S News and World Report March 27, 1989
Rev. Moon's Rising Political Influence
His empire is spending big money trying to win favor with conservatives.

More tolerance. Through this method of recruiting, the church has established a network of affiliated organizations and connections in almost every conservative organization in Washington, including the Heritage Foundation, the largest of the conservative think tanks and an important source of government personnel during the Reagan administration. Although Heritage officials deny it, the foundation has dramatically changed its policy toward the Unification Church. In the early 80's the foundation, wary of the church's aims, prohibited staff or fellows from being associated with Unification Church organizations or taking money from the church or church-financed institutions.

As the Washington Times has become the voice of capital conservatives, the Heritage Foundation has become far more tolerant of church ties. The foundation accepts the participation of Lichenstein and other senior fellows in church-funded enterprises and allows its staff members to go to church conferences.

The Unification Church's newfound influence has occasioned intense debate among conservatives. One group of worried young conservatives meets regularly in private to compare notes about the problem. But little of the debate has surfaced in public forums. "Most people are afraid to address the issue because they don't want to publicize the extent of the church's involvement," says Amy Moritz of the Conservative National Center for Public Policy Research.

Because almost all conservative organizations in Washington have some ties to the church, conservatives also fear repercussions if they expose the church's role.
That happened when one organization, the Capital Research Center, published a newsletter last November warning of the church's attempt to create a "centralized world theocracy." One of its board members, who was also on the board of the International Security Council, resigned in protest, and conservatives charging that the paper was creating discord on the right, besieged the center with angry calls. "We got a very, very strong reaction -- almost as if we were the enemy -- because we raised the issue," says CRC Chairman Willa Johnson, a former president of the Heritage Foundation.

9. a place for free market conservatives to escape the free market
From “Moonstruck: The Reverend and his Newspaper” by Ann Louise Bardach, an article that was originally to have appeared in Vanity Fair in 1992 but was killed. The article finally saw print in 2004 when included in the book Killed, Great Journalism Too Hot to Print by David Wallis. Tina Brown was Bardach's editor.

Charlotte Hayes, who wrote a hilarious and snarky memoir in The New Republic entitled "I was Moonie Gossip Columnist," still laments the loss of the generous expense account she had at the paper. "This is on the Rev.," Hayes, a thoroughbred conservative, would tell sources as she lunged for meal checks. "The Times," she added drolly, "is a place for free market conservatives to escape the free market."

Father's teaching must go to the president - of every nation - but especially of this nation. Amen. That's why we're going to Capitol Hill. That's why this Capitol Hill emphasis is developing incredible foundation to educate congress and from the foundation of congress we're educating the White House and the State Department. As Father said - maybe there is somebody from the CIA here. But I can tell you the administration and the State Department and also the CIA look very favorably on our work. We got a letter from the White House from a briefing we did on the work we did in Israel from the head of President Bush's representative to all the Jewish communities in America and he's a deputy cabinet member and he wrote on the letter in his own handwriting, "You're doing great work - IIFWP." Because of the healing we're bringing in the Middle East. So the White House is aware.

41. glitch, you got that right
Parry is the gold standard. In my post I say Gorenfeld is the ONE person reporting on Moon. I should have properly said "investigating" Moon. Mr. Parry isn't actively investigating him to my knowledge. He has re emphasized some of the info he had said years ago in a couple of recent articles. If Parry and investigative journalism was properly financed I am sure he would be digging into Moon.

The crowning story broke in June of 2004. BY April 1st I know I had sent links and info on that to MANY reporters including so called "liberal" columnists. Other than bloggers, nothing. It was particularly frustrating to me because I had called Danny Davis's office a year before and warned them Moon was using Danny. They didn't listen. Now Davis says that he will no longer attend Moon functions. (Unlike the republicans who still drool over Moon's paper, Danny has apparently seen the light. My guess is he saw information he hadn't seen before and that woke him up. Again our "media" has failed the nation.

If you saw the volume of notes, the information I have sent to many people on this your jaw would hit the floor. The story on Moon and the UN manipulation is all out there for anyone to see. The speaker of the house of the Philippines admits Moon is "leading" the effort to have then UN add a theocratic body.

I find this stuff with google and reading, I have no budget. I had one White House correspondent tell me when I offered him information, "I don't want ANY information on Moon!" Another WH reporter - over two years ago I ask him to ask Bush what advice he was getting from the Moon organization on NK. I documented many of the same ties Gorenfeld is now reporting. He replied that it was a great question and suggested I email the WH and ask them.

Other than the Parry notations in this article, most of this information I have been sending to people and posting it to boards for well over a year.

It isn't any secret what is happening for anyone who looks.

The problem is the silence allows Moon to operate. Moon has gigged many black ministers with his bullshit. When all they hear is Moon's version of events, and combined with Bush and Co. using Moon to push the Faith Based vote buying scheme, it is no wonder.

But I did not mean to slight Mr. Parry or his tremendous work. Here is his Moon page. If the nation only knew what was in these articles it would be a much better and much, much different place. imho...

18. Photos of actual soul selling in progress.
Here's the soul selling shill Bush 41 helping Moon with his planet manipulations in USA. The "FFWPU" is the Unification Church after a name change.

Here's Gerald Ford with the right's True Savior at the same event:

You can download the historical propaganda video of these two presidents selling the name, honor and prestige of the Presidency of The United States of America to the man who claims to be the Messiah. A man whose stated goal is the "natural subjugation of the American government and population."

download the "Introductory Video" found here

Large file - 46MB - but it is worth the time. As Gorenfeld points out, without the soul selling conservatives honoring Moon then ALL, I repeat, ALL of Moon's planet manipulations would have gone down the drain, they gave Moon and his organization HUGE HUGE HUGE face and credibilty around the world.

19. Omg
At last ~ hopefully it's a beginning. I couldn't understand why the media never covered this story. I was horrified when I found out about him and his association with Bush Sr.

Ever since I found out about the influence he has on our government, I had to wonder if it is his mind control techniques that produced the freeper mindset. I never saw anything like the way they just repeat what they are told, and how resistent they are, even when the evidence is there, to the truth. That to me, is mind-control, and he is an expert.

I did know that he had given $10 million dollars to N.Korea in the early nineties, and that he was investigated by the this government, but even though there were sanctions on N. Korea, nothing came of those investigations.

This country is really in trouble!!

20. mind control...
You can find direction to a PDF file with extended excerpts of the 70s congressional investigation of Korean influence peddling at the top of the page http://cellwhitman.blogspot.com/2004/10/independent-washington-times.html">HERE.

Also, by skimming that post you will several of the reasons why saying the Washington Times is in anyway independent of Moon is bullshit. Moon used it to drive our nation right while he funded and gathered together and helped the religious right take over the Republican Party. No he wasn't alone, but keep in mind we have had John Birchers, theocrats and fascists in America for a long time, it took Moon's billions and guidance to lead them to power. Moon is the straw that stirs the theofascist drink.

Moon says point blank his job as messiah includes raising up "Christians" for political power in America. He did that. He has more to do with our nation's politics than anyone. He outspent Scaife and yet he is invisible to public. Especially invisible to the conservatives who take their lead from him.

He molded and guided what is now posing as the republican party.

I will try to have a post on cult mind control soon. If one studies how cults defend themselves, lie for the cause...though it is a political cult - the new right acts and reacts just like people under cultic mind control. This is true.

LaHaye considered himself an expert in mind control back in the late 70s, early 80s. No small wonder that he and Moon would be aligned. The Left Behind books are full of theocratic/political persuading.

24. Moon: “We now have a direct influence on Reagan through The WTimes"
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 06:33 PM by Cell Whitman
Conservatives sold the world and our country out to Moon's direction when they gave him a place at the tables of influence within their movement.

Below is some stuff found here.

___

"I influenced America through the Washington Times and so many different activities. Do you want Father in America. (YES !! The ministers responded)…The Last Days are coming to America. Be careful. Those that oppose Rev. Moon will perish. Since I came here, I didn’t get anything from America."

(Sun Myung Moon, Sun Myung Moon September 13, 2002 “The Last Days Are Coming to America.” An address by Moon given at East Garden to clergy planning the Sept. 14 “blessing.”)

______

Mr. Soejima, who ran Moon’s papers in Japan, said Moon bragged about how he influenced our president through the Washington Times.

“The Washington Times was the top priority of the entire Unification Church worldwide,” said Soejima, who was editor of Sekai Nippo (World Daily News), a church-controlled Tokyo newspaper, before being fired last October following a dispute with church officials over control of the paper. …

But he (Moon) spoke with pride of The Washington Times, bragging of important officials who had attended its opening ceremonies. Moon said that James Whelan, then publisher of The Washington Times, “listens to what I say and makes the newspaper as I tell him,” according to Soejima…“With journalism, we have now reached success by establishing The Washington Times,” Moon said, according to Soejima. “We now have a direct influence on Reagan through The Washington Times.”

(John Burgess and Michael Isikoff, “Moon’s Profits Bolster Efforts in U.S.” Washington Post, Sunday, Sept, 16, 1984, pg. A01.)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/cult/unification/profit.htm

----

This JoongAng Daily article states that Moon sent a reporter to North Korea to make “a better image” of North Korea. Moon himself says he did that.

“The church, which owns Pyonghwa and such companies as the Tongil Group, the Washington Times, and UPI news service, among others, has had close ties with the North. … Mr. Moon then worked to improve the image of the North. He, for example, sent a Washington Times reporter to the North and made the country known to the West with a better image. Since then, the North has confided in the church.”

(Min Seong-jae, “Pyonghwa Motors, Unification Church Do a Deal.” JoongAng Daily, Aug. 31, 2003 - tiny url: http://tinyurl.com/2zjhp )

_____

From FRONTLINE in 1992:

Narrator: But Whelan’s wall of editorial independence was often breached.

Whelan: “Moon himself gave direct instructions to the editors. …Who in fact calls the shots? Ultimately Moon calls the shots.”…

Whelan (at press conference): “The Washington Times has become a Moonie newspaper.”

40. You wonder how on earth these people have rationalized
that the WT is not part of Moon's plan this long. That is insane.

Anyone who reads just one of Moon's speeches knows he intends for EVERYTHING he touches to bring he and his group closer to controlling the direction of world events. That is ALL he does.

Even IF Moon didn't use the paper to help him...how on earth do you ignore people like the guy interviewed in part two here:

http://www.xenutv.com/cults/gb2.htm

Let alone taking into account the money to run the propganda outlet came from conning widows in Japan.

Conservatives have "family" values? What a GD fraud. They'd hand their souls to anyone who puts them in a position to cut taxes.

BTW, Brian Lamb's is more of a propagandist than a host, imho. He interviewed Pruden on his Q&A show and although he asked him some about Moon, he gave pass after pass to Pruden. It is OBVIOUS Lamb no more knows what Moon is about than the man in the MOON!!!

Keep in mind, just the slightest mention of the DSM on cspan and you were called a conspiracy nut just a couple weeks ago.

Cspan, like the nation as a whole, goes where conservative propaganda leads it in most cases.

28. The cult of personality Rev. Moon & the Moonies.
I remember back in the mid to late 70's anything Moonie was looked upon with suspicion. Moon was cultivating young people to do his bidding, he had them selling flowers and other items to fund his vision. In that time the Moonie were looked upon as a nuisance, pests who harassed motorists and residents. My local police dept would often arrest them for interfering with traffic and soliciting without permits. Our local laws did not recognize them as a religion. Local people would call constantly about them. They always seemed polite but were driven to give Moon his due, mostly by depriving themselves.

Now we fast forward and Moon has successfully captured America and has may enterprises to do his bidding. Politicians worship him and those who probably came from his organization are now in positions to further advance his cause. We have been invaded and most people seem oblivious to their presence.

34. Jesus!!!! Robert Casey spoke on that video! Isn't he running against
Santorum?

he's the ahole who raised all the stink about not being able to speak at the Dem convention, cause he's anti-choice

what an ASShole!

too bad there isn't much to see of Bush on that...I skipped through, and only saw a very brief glimpse of him....Ford was on much longer, from what I saw

and Moon isn't too insane, is he?

42. No. Casey supported Gore, but Bush's campaign spinners blew the absence
of Casey as a featured speaker at the 96 convention into a legend that he was hounded out and refused a timeslot for being prolife.

44. Did you see Pat Boone and his "Christian" family serenading Moon?
it was in the last half of the video iirc.

Makes you wonder if these "Christian" folks ever read John 5:43.

Like this guy. (shots taken from now scrubbed propaganda videos from Moon's Russian site.)

Look - Alexander Haig was at this one. Al is a big Moon backer.

47. and what, pray tell, is the ONE thing that unites all these worms?
hint, it's not their creed, or their ideology, though some may call if a form of worship.

and, yes, I did see the Boone family lighting up Moon's life....I skipped through it, as I'm going to have to be in an altered state to properly enjoy the entire half hour

36. Gorenfeld's web site has been the best online site for all things Moon:
http://www.iapprovethismessiah.com/

It is searchable, has topic browsing, film clips, everything. But it was in a "hiatus" since 4/29/05 - so glad to see it with a new post on this American Prospect development.

The quote that was with the "hiatus" announcement at his web site is a general rule of thumb for DC politics but also suggests that perhaps he needed some financial support to continue this important work:

Quote

"In politics, there is very little money given without something being asked in return."
-- Republican strategist Paul Weyrich
"Moon Group Financing Anti-Communist Lobby," Washington Post, Sep 14, 1984.

In any case, I'm very, very pleased to see John Gorenfeld's vital and courageous research into Moon's crazy and dangerous intrusion into US and world politics continuing under the American Prospect. It's far too important to stop.

Recommended - this is important. Moon is under the surface in so much that is frightening and corrupt in American politics and corporate media.

46. It's up to us to let more people know the truth.
It's almost a miracle that Gorenfeld got the story to this point.

49. ...and that he is still alive to talk about it. He's courageous on
more than one level. I'm sure he's aware that his truthtelling about Moon and his pet fanatics and political parasites is not endearing him to some very dangerous people.

He DOES deserve the Pulitizer - but then that would draw more attention to his work, and no doubt there are many who would prefer to see it - and him - buried.

You're right - it's up to US to let more people know the truth. He's been doing all he can, but there's only so much one person can do, no matter how brave and insightful.

50. Conason deserves some Kudos along with Gorenfeld for this one
Joe is the new Investigative Editor for the Prospect. I guess he has put folks on notice that he won't be messing around. :)

I should have put this in the original post. Please email the Am. Prospect and let them know you are into their new editor and reporting and you hope they do more on the moonster.

48. Gorenfeld should receive the Pulitzer
for his blog and his Moon work.

I have wondered how, when they give out blog awards, he hasn't gotten one of those.

What's with the hand holding? Did Bush learn this from the conservative savior Moon? :)

38. Moonie bought Soviet submarines and then sold them to N. Korea.
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 07:42 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
Now that is something to be concerned about.

Rev. Moon's submarines, sold to Kim Jong-Il: nuke threat?
'05 Update: While Moon's group almost certainly seems to have been involved, confusion surrounds the conflicting accounts of the sub sale. Bear with me while I sort out how many subs actually reached NK. Below some additional material has been posted.
Jane's Defense Weekly is reporting this week that Kim Jong-Il, unstable North Korean dictator (I wrote about his kidnapping habit in the British Guardian) may be able to target California with sea-launched missiles. His know-how, the Reuters story relates, comes from 12 ex-Soviet submarines that fell into his hands. They came with their original launch tubes and stabilizing gear intact. Where does Kim get those wonderful toys?

Funny story: According to U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency documents from 1994 (which you can browse here), they were furnished by Reverend Moon.

Robert Parry, the ace reporter who broke the Iran-Contra story, obtained these files through the Freedom of Information Act while writing his 2000 story, "Rev. Moon, North Korea and the Bushes," about Moon's gifts to the Communist regime. Read on, if you dare. (Glossary: KN = North Korea)
