I'm so disheartened. I thought for sure the DSM event on Thursday would make waves. To discover that of all papers, the the Washington Post not only didn't give the hearing serious coverage but had some asshat diss it just blew me away. Four years of my life have been spent pissed off the majority of the time. I'm sick to fucking death of the lies from the media. ANGRY all the time. This is no way to fucking live.

I really have more anger at the media that at the administration. The media is supposed to be the safety net of the commoner. WTF is Bob Woodward, the godammed senior editor of the post, thinking?

It's too much to fathom. The fucking washington post marginalizes half a million people and a good portion of the house. and yes, i've emailed anf telephoned EVERYONE with a number and address. My car is covered with bumperstickers. I make conversation wityh total strangers in the gorcery store. I rant at my friends and customers.

WHEN, for the love of God, when is this gonna change???

I punched the clock again today... went out to a busy intersection with my 'Impeach Bush' / 'AfterDowningStreet.org sign. Got lots of cheers, waves, honks, thank yous, etc, and a couple of one-fingered 'waves'... to which I waved back, asking them if they lost their other fingers in Iraq.

So inspiring, it gave me goosebumps.

Thank you, Matcom. I'm in the fighting spirit, but there are some moments when I get pretty down in the heart. I'm bookmarking this inspiration for those brief periods when I think I can't go on.

I always try to remember stories my dad would tell me. Dad was a trucker in Detroit, a battle weary union organizer alongside Walter Reuther. One story in particular he told me was about protests in the early 1930s by World War I veterans, desperate from the Depression, some coming with their families from all across the nation onto Washington DC. My dad, a vet and who was there, told how armed horse mounted or tank driven American soldiers charged into and battled those vets, women and children in the streets. Dad told me there were over 100 casualties, including 2 babies.

What an incredibly dark moment in our history. Something not to be proud of, and of course something we don't learn about in our schools. Kent State has proven that it can happen again.

Shameful.

For me, remembering all that dad has told me, I owe it to him, to stay strong and punch that clock. Thanks again for the video.
