6. I saw a CSpan book tv thingy on the author giving a talk.
It was pretty much pollyanna, there's no Peak Oil problem, we'll always have some energy and no crisis.

Virtue of waste did it for me too. Everything that sounds intellectual, ain't.

3. PNAC dogs are out to dog lunch
LOL.

they think this will be "the american century" when China has much larger GDP potential.

I dont know what to do about the Chinese GDP, but it looks like the big event of this coming century.

Our national big event looks to be destruction of the middle class by the GOP, and transmogrification into a copy of Mexico. Poverty coast to coast as a few billionaires live in NYC penthouses.

7. China's development is coal-fired, like us; they also want to do
Pebble bed nuclear reactors , see articles like
Let a thousand reactors bloom
http://www.energybulletin.net/1868.html

and What's wrong with pebble bed reactors
http://www.tmia.com/industry/pebbles.html

It seems like more rose-colored glasses and happy-talk from neocons.

Here's a first though, I agree with Thomas Friedman on something
Save us, oh Toyota
http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/06/17/opinion/edfried.php

The US can show the world how to create the Natural Capitalism that Amory/Hunter Lovins and Paul Hawken write about. It's just that the current batch of freemarket/neocon lunatics stand solidly IN THE WAY. An impeachment, started by enlightened Republicans NOW would speed the plow to a safer more economically sane future for us all. The longer THEY dawdle the worse it will be for us all.
