Is Alex Jones credible?
I've been doing some internet sniffing concerning 9/11. I've straddled a fence between LIHOP and MIHOP for a while. At Wikipidia I found a three part documentary called 'Martial Law' that he did and I'm still in the process of watching it. I still have two parts left to go.

I also found this site:

http://www.question911.com/links.php

I watched 'Loose Change' but didn't find it all that impressive.

But 'Martial Law' is for sure making me think twice about this issue and others.

I mainly want to know how credible this guy is.

1. I've seen a few of his films
And that film is pretty good. I definitley recommend that one. You should also check out "Loose Change." I'm not sure who it's by but it's another 9/11 film. It's not as "out there" you can say but it's more simple and you don't have to wrap your brain around a lot of stuff.

2. When I lived in Austin and used to watch his show on cable
access, I assumed he had a few screws loose. Lots of conspiracy theory stuff, coming from no definite direction. To his credit, he did go fight city hall on their lawn-mowing ordinance at the time.

3. And he was right about 9/11
On a July 2001 show he had papers showing the attack on WTC and urged people to call their reps on his show. That video clip is at http://www.prisonplanet.tv I don't know about EVERYTHING he talks about but I would listen and research. He always encourages you to research for yourself and not just blindly follow him which is something I like. Too many people now days want you to believe them over someone else without looking for yourself. His 9/11 information seems to match up with other films I've seen and other research I've done.

5. He does have a lot of support for his arguments
What I've watched so far is impressive. I didn't care for his views on Michael Moore, but I don't expect everyone to see things as I do anyway.

There is a lot of information he's giving out and I'm taking notes as I go. I'll be following up on some of the things I'm questioning and out of curiosity as well.

Yeah, his voice can get to me, but it hasn't interfered with the information.

6. Yep
He gets excited I think. I don't think he's meaning to yell at you or anything like that. At least my take on it. I've listened to his radio show a couple times and it's the same way on there.

8. He's a bit melodramatic...
But he is right on the money on many things. He does go over the edge sometimes with his interpretations, but when you take away all the melodrama, he usually has a good point. His views on 911 are very MIHOP. Bin Laden a CIA asset, Bush and Cheney knew in advance, etc. He seems to have a MSM news source for most all of his claims.

One thing I find interesting is that he is very anti "left vs right," claiming that that's how "they" want us to be (fighting back and forth). And as long as we are fighting, the "New World Order" is being ushered in under our noses and no one is noticing. At the same time, he clearly harbors a somewhat conservative point of view.

I listen to him sometimes. He stretches the truth some, but he'll make you think.

10. Yep
That's what I like. How he'll put out his view points and he'll challenge yours and make you question and think and argue with him. He's not like the rightwing callers like Limbaugh and O'Reilly who'd only want to hear "yes" people. He takes anybody who will make a good radio show. I've heard his show a few times and the first time I really listened he had this guy from Texas and whenever Jones asked him about something the guy would go "I don't know about that" but yet he'd claim he has seen some of Jones' films on local networks and he couldn't even name one. :eyes: The only time the guy agreed with Jones was when it was about Clinton (go figure!). Heh heh. And I do think sometimes, at least this last election, it was a "left vs right" type of thing. Like talking mostly about gay marriage and the like instead of issues that really count. The third debate there was so much gay marriage talk. Oy!
If we just focused on issues like the economy, health care, enviornment, education etc. then we'd be fine and we'd agree more then we disagree instead of little issues that don't belong in the government.

11. It depends on what section of the Elephant he has a hold of that day
Alex don't like the way Mike looks at things and maybe visa-versa. The thing is the conduit of the message, how accurate is it? Like the poster above, some parts are hyped to try and make the information more important than is. More and more evidence or just plain perspective seems to be pointing at MIHOP for me. Really the debate of the MIHOP / LIHOP is getting to be inconsequential considering how and now it's just being used as a fulcrum to hoist things up that otherwise wouldn't be politically possible
