Looks like the Durban curveball diversion didn't work
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 06:52 AM by Jersey Devil
Not a damned thing about it I could find in MSM. Instead, there are nothing but more stories about W's approval rating swirling towards the bottom of the toilet and finally at least a few DSM stories, though usually buried at the bottom.

They are really getting desperate to focus attacks on such a low key guy like Durban who the average Joe probably never heard of.

1. Maybe the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes Story Will?
I wasn't waiting for 3 hours to go to the top of the Eifel Tower. Glad Tom and Katie are happy. (Total sarcasm)

4. Imus ain't exactly MSM
Didn't know about the trib though. I doubt Durban story has any legs. It's not like he is a rock star for Chrissakes. No one cares.

7. Imus on MSMBC cable tv.
Tribune is Chi area largest paper, and you can expect tie in articles to LA Times, WGN superstation, which it owns.

Whether Durbin story has legs or not beyond today, I don't know.

8. 2 freepers called Washington Journal this morning.

I suspect they will continue their assault today unless they've caught wind of the Santorum quote. I'm hoping Durbin hits the Senate floor with both barrels loaded this morning and gives the jerks the Santorum Nazi quote. Santorum compared DEMOCRATS to Nazis..Durbin compared torture (interrogation) techniques. Big difference. Hypocrites. I'd love to hear the repukes explain away that Santorum quote. That would be entertaining! :)

If you haven't called or email Durbin's office....please do! He needs our support. His office in DC opens at 9:00 ET.

9. This Is Hate Radio/Echo Chamber Stuff
Wanna hear it as a top story this morning? Turn on your FM radio...dial up to the 88-92 part of the dial and look for a local Air One or K-Love or The Fish or other xtian radio outlet. There it's a big story...the big bad Democrat calling this god-fearing xtian nation after another god-fearing xtian fascist nation (ooops).

It's also being bantered all over hate radio. Rushbo need Durbin since the other day he lost one of his last appeals in keeping the Palm Beach County DA from really investigating why Mr. Limbaugh really needed sooooo much medication.

Think about it...this is a combination of dog days and bad times for the wingnuts (not that they ever appear to have good times). While we can bitch that three judges got confirmed, they look at it as a total cave-in...then there's the Bolton fiasco and the splintering of the own ranks. Don't discount the big rift the immigration issue is creating as well as many uncomfortable xtians who aren't liking Dobson being the face of both their party and faith. Diversion like this are always on the menu.

One of the local Chicago television stations played a bit of Durbin's bit...and in a positive light...saying how our Senator had spoken up in the growing call for Gitmo to be closed. This is how many are reading into this story. Let the hate bastards stew.
