I'm tired of getting these kinds of e-mails...and I keep getting them from a friend of my brother's.

:argh:

Everybody has the right to believe or not believe a God. Can anyone come up with a rebuttal, so this woman stops sending me this trash?

Subject: Agree or Delete

Forward if U agree, if not, delete

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!

If you agree, pass this on, if not delete. . .

1. Ask if 100 years from now....
86% of Americans were atheists, would it be OK for them to tell the christians to sit down and shut up?

2. Which god would that be?????
Dont forget to constitution. Part of the purpose of the constituion is to protect the minority from the mob. I.E. 14% of population has every right to their oppinion and to insist that the mob doesnt push aside the rights of the miniority.

3. Using the same logic...
70% of Americans believe Saddam was involved in 9/11. So why not attack and kill the wrong people in the name of national security, and tell the other 30% to shut up?

5. Just because a majority believe something...
doesn't mean they're right. Anyway, if a person really trusts in god, why would they need money?

6. Press "delete."
Why bother with a rebuttal?

We have an election to win...

8. Lynch mob mentality
Democracy is more than simple majority rule. The difference between a democracy and a lynch mob is that a democracy respects and protects the rights of unpopular minorities and individuals.

9. Penn and Teller...
Have a show on Showtime called "Bullshit." I liked Penn's analogy when their show covered Creationism. It went along the lines of, "We all belong to a big club called the United States of America, and certain aspects of that club, such as schools, are funded by all the club member's dues - called taxes. But there's a rulebook for this club called the Constitution, and in that rulebook it says that church and state are separate."

Of course, if someone sends that out, then nothing you say or do will convince them otherwise.

10. Tell Your Brother
Tell your brother you don't welcome the e-mails from his friend. Ask him to intercede. If he refuses, you can reply her undiplomatically: Don't send me this shit.

It works! My brother's wife thinks America is in trouble because we don't have prayer in the schools. I asked him to intercede for the sake of family harmony. Now I don't hear from her, and I like it that way.

12. Thanks
I used the quote by George Washington. That is exactly what I was looking for.

I told her to stop sending me this kind of mail, I consider it hatemail.

Thanks for all your help.
