Dean Supporters: Latest Poll indicates Dean is electable

One of the things opponents seem to use against Dr. Dean (especially the DLC) is that he is not electable. Well we know that he is and really don't need a poll to prove it. But we do have it. In fact it is the latest CNN poll which has been heavily touted around here.

First, my hat off to Gen. Clark who is actually leading Bush according to this poll by 49-46. My hat off to our other candidates: Kerry, Gep, and (yes) even Lieberman who are also doing well in that poll.

But gang, Howard Dean is right in the thick of things too. Bush is ahead, but among registered voters the Bush margin is only three-points (49-46) a statistical dead heat. At three-points down we know Bush probably is ahead of Dean in the south and Dean is probably ahead of Bush everywhere else.

So while other candidate supporters can claim that they are doing well in the same poll--they cannot claim that Dean is unelectable. The only unelectable candidate as it is getting clear is George Worthless Bush.

...I got sidetracked by a few minor incidents, but I'm back on track.

Currently looking at campaign managers for hire, finally got a full campaign plan together, and I have speaking engagements lined up already.

Fundraising comes next. But it was the DUers who gave me the start I REALLY needed. I was able to afford all the stuff I needed to kick off (business cards, office supplies, webpage fees, etc) and plenty left over for future needs!

I see this poll as you do...a good poll for Doctor Dean...with the number of dedicated supporters in his camp, Clark, et al, are really going to have to light some fires to stop Dean. And I hope that proves to be true!

It's what everyone in touch with reality has been saying all along. This poll shows that people think Kerry and Clark are the most electable.

Dean, with all of his corporate media hype, still lags in these national (i.e. broad based electorate, not just activists) polls.

Kerry gets spit on by the media and he comes out ahead of Bush.

This election will be about electing a commander in chief more than anything else. Those who fail to realize this are going down a dangerous path. This country cannot survive 4 more years of Bush. A Dean nomination would be a disaster.

I was extremely happy this last poll.You're damn right it shows Dean and Kerry are electable.When you look at it maybe what it really is showing is whitle-ass is the one who's getting un-electable.

If your a Kerry,Clark, or Dean fan it really is a shot in the arm for there supporters.Giving them a energy boost for the next phase.All of the hard work may just be paying off.If we don't turn too hard agianst each other.We may just get a regime change.People keep it up,tell people about Franken's,Connasson's and Hightower's books.Spread the word about Paul Krugman's columns in NY Times.This movement is way more than our pres.candidates,although keep working hard for the ones you each support.

20. Why I still think that Dean is unelectable:

1. millions of dollars will be used to pay for attack ads in the general election. Deans own words and his trying to pose as a liberal will be used against him.

2. if we have another attack (the type which would be very difficult to prevent) the nation will not put a liberal democrat in charge of national defense. If Dean's the nominee, I'd duck and cover because Bush and Co would stop at nothing to have control of our govt for another 4 years.

this poll, I'd say Dean is probably the MOST electable of the field.

The Democratic nominee will be attacked without a doubt, but Dean has already shown his ability to hit back quickly and hard.

Both of the candidates I support (Kerry and Clark) beat Bush in the latest poll, while Dean does the worst. At the end of the day Dean is still the anti-war, weak on defense, gay marriage guy from the second smallest state in the union -- who would be toast in a national election.

John Kerry's vote was correct based on the evidence presented. Americans can feel confident that Kerry will protect them. The same can't be said about Howard Dean.

Quite frankly, the idea of Dean as commander in chief is laughable to me, as I'm sure it is to the majority of Americans.
