A Sampling of George Allen's pro-slave holder/lyncher past...
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 11:00 AM by BurtWorm
http://capitolbuzz.blogspot.com/2005/06/george-allens-racial-makeover-for-2008.html

When George Allen gets in front of the cameras today to tout the Senate’s expected passage of a resolution apologizing for its failure to enact an anti-lynching law, it will be interesting to see if any reporter asks Allen if he will also apologize for the bevy of racially insensitive positions and actions he has taken throughout his career, including displaying a hangman’s noose in his office.

...

1) Allen kept a hangman's noose in his law office and displayed a Confederate flag at his home. When asked, he said that the two racially provocative symbols were nothing more than harmless decorations.

2) In 1997, Allen proclaimed April as Confederate History and Heritage Month and called the Civil War "a four-year struggle for independence and sovereign rights."

3) Allen Opposed MLK Holiday, Civil Rights Act. As a state delegate, Allen opposed a Virginia holiday for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

1. A little too late, isn't it?
Why are they doing this now? Trying to suck up to minorities? Geez, they never fail to astound me with their idiotic posturing....

Thanks for posting this and keeping up with the senate...:)
