What an incredibly powerful film about living and the American dream.

After watching it once, its worth watching again with the audio commentary by, now 31 and 32 years, old Arthur Agee and William Gates who film follows for 4.5 years from age 14. Both boys have lost loved ones to violence, who appear in the film, since its release to theaters in 1994. William Gates's older brother Curtis was gunned down at his apartment in September 2001, Arthur Agee's father Bo, who was shown in the film recovering his life from a crack cocaine addiction, was killed in a robbery attempt in front of the family's home this past January.
