Poll question: Will Dean and Kucinich supporters vote for Nader
if neither Dean nor Kucinich get the Democratic nomination.

Sorry, polls are turned off at Level 3.

This is very dishonest polling since there are no options favorable to Dean or Kucinich supporters.

PS I am a Dean supporter and I will still vote Dem if they aren't nominated. Your post was ignorant and inflammitory.

RIGHT!! There were good reasons why otherwise staunch Democratic voters finally gave up on that Party in 2000. And if the Democratic Party honchos are equally brain-dead and/or indifferent THIS time, as to WHY that took place, there'll be anothern disaster next year.

7. This is another stupid poll
I won't vote in it, but you might be interested to know that most dean and Kucinich people will end up voting for the Democratic nominee. I know lots of Dean people who certainly will support whoever the nominee is.

I can only speak for myself (I'm a Dean supporter) but I've voted straight Democratic ticket for president in every election since 1984 (my first election I could vote in) which is more than I can say for one prominent canddidate for the nomination.

17. yeah, so sinking to that level is cool?
the person who put that up was obviously not thinking clearly (either that or he/she is an a*shole). So call the person out within the thread, call them what they are. There's no reason to get into pissing contests and see how rotten everyone can be. Take a step above the shit man, don't sink to that level and continue to ruin the quality of GD. This is mean-spirited, and I was hoping this weak the Clark/Dean Kucinich rift would have at least become workable by now. I'm not perfect, noone is, but it would be nice if we could at least keep the threads away from being complete and utterly useless flame-bait. Just my two cents.

12. I have found Kucinich supporters to be the best Democrats in the country
I've been to New Hampshire, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, Arizona, Colorado, California, Washington, Montana and Texas in the last couple of months on the book tour. I've met Dennis three different times, and have met Kucinich supporters in every place. I have yet to meet one who would do anything but vote for the nominee when the time comes. They are actually quite adamant about it.

The same goes for Dean supporters. Your poll offers no option for me to vote in this matter.

19. Painting All Clark Supporters With The Same Brush
Isn't that the textbook definition of prejudice and also an example of a lapse in logic....

I was taught to go from the particular to the universal is illogical and an example of prejudice...

For instance if I had a bad business dealing with a Jewish person and than inferred that all Jewish businessmen were corrupt I would be practicing faulty logic as well as prejudice...

You seem to have found a few disruptive Clark supporters and are now implying that all Clark supporters are disruptive...

That's doesn't sound very liberal to me.....

P.S. To the original poster.... Trashing other folks candidates is not going to win converts to your candidate....

Right, ALL of us, including people like me who have consistantly defended Clark and other candidates from groundless bashing. I shouldn't feel "targeted" according to you, and I probably wouldn't except for the fact that you were very specific about bashing "Kucinich and Dean supporters". Since I'm a staunch Kucinich supporter, YEAH, I feel targeted.

Can you give me a good reason I should speak up and defend your candidate when his supporters are giving as good as they get in the bashing department?

Edited on Mon Sep-22-03 12:03 PM by diamondsoul
seem to believe BillyBunter is attacking Dean in this thread- http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

One person's honest scrutiny is another person's "bash". It happens all across these boards with supporters of EVERY candidate- except Lieberman's, and I suspect that's because they seem to be few and far between on DU. Not to mention that Lieberman's campaign staff seem to be doing a fine job of smearing Dr. Dean on a separate web-page. :eyes:

I don't go looking for things like this, Brian, and I don't like it when I'm tricked into opening a thread that is nothing but a personal attack. That's what you did to me, despite my vocal opposition of smear campaigns against Clark AND his supporters!

As a matter of fact there was a comment on this thread, I believe, from Eloriel about Clark supporters "invading DU". I had intended to comment on that but gee, I got sidetracked defending myself and other Kucinich supporters from a rather nasty attack.**edit to say the comment doesn't appear to have been on this thread, and I still intend to respond to it.**

Look, I know it bites to be attacked for no good reason. Obviously or I wouldn't be posting to this thread about it. The thing is, when you sink to that same level you wind up alienating people like me who DON'T attack you or any other supporters without being provoked. Once in a while I respond to the snide, empty slams about Kucinich, but damn I try to resist that temptation. Ya feed the trolls they keep coming back for more.

I've been poked with figurative stick around here, and I've responded. I know very well that it doesn't help anything, except that for a few seconds I feel just a tiny bit vindicated. If that's what this thread has done for you, I'm glad it had some positive affect, but please stop and consider what price you may have paid in support against unfounded bashing later on. You've verbally wounded people who might well have spoken in defense of Clark supporters with this, and people who sit back and yell "grow a thicker skin" are just being self-absorbed jerks. There are people behind these posts, and peple have feelings. Many of us are passionate in our support for our candidate, and sometimes that passion comes out in an ugly form. Don't you think it makes more sense to be watchful of that and avoid it than to give in to it and actually hurt your standing with good people?

You are suggesting that all Clark supporters are "bad" because a couple of them are....

Not all Clark supporters are knuckle scraping, tobacco chewing, rifle toating, flag waving, yahoos....

In fact one of those touting a Clark candidacy is Arthur Schlessinger Jr.
