(Condi) said, are you going to pay attention to the continent of Africa?
This is from the news conference with Blair:

Q Thank you, Mr. President. Prime Minister Blair has been pushing for wealthy nations to double aid to Africa. With American aid levels among the lowest in the G8 as per portion of national income, and the problems on the continent so dire, why isn't doubling US aid a good idea?

PRESIDENT BUSH: Well, first, as I said in my statement, we've tripled aid to Africa. Africa is an important part of my foreign policy. I remember when I first talked to Condi when I was trying to convince her to become the National Security Advisor, she said, are you going to pay attention to the continent of Africa? I said, you bet. And I've fulfilled that commitment.

Okay, Isn't Dr. Rice a Russian specialist? Did she suddenly become *'s Africa specialist? Rice's reaction was one of visible discomfort.

If this akward moment was prompted by Dean's comments then give me more! Dean knows as we all do that 1) they lie their butts off and 2) when called on it they over-react and then lie some more. This is a flaw they can't fix and more Dems should be exploiting it.

1. She's African-American, so of COURSE she must be the Africa
expert! I'd feel sorry for her, if it weren't for all the obvious reasons .... :nopity:

Really, I'm ashamed Bush won't do more to alleviate poverty. I guess we're spending too much on Freedom Bullets these days.

She is a war monger!

He has done next to nothing about AIDS or Africa.

She knows that...

2. Hmmm...
... Condi was thinking about all those US bases to be built there, and Bushboy thought she was talking about her race.... That's a really good, productive interview for a National Security Advisor to the President, I'd say....

Whew....

3. This also reeks of *'s inability to think about suffering people

When he came to ground zero he used the phrase "we are going to get the people responsible for knocking those buildings down" as if the crime which was commited there was people knocking down empty real estate. This is similar.

He doesn't say "are you going to pay attention to the problems in Africa" or the people but rather the continent -- the physical land mass.

Scientists who pay attention to the continent of Africa note that it is moving away from South America at the rate of about 10 inches per year.

5. Her real question was...
"You gonna pay attention to the need for the occupation of Africa, so we can rape it of vital resources? ". The chimp answered: "you bet".

6. Condi
Did you notice the use of "Condi" for the Secretary of State?

Does he say, "Dick" when referring to the Vice President or "Donnie" when mentioning something Rumsfeld says?

There's a reason nicknames are called diminutives. Condi is just a sidekick.

7. Soon after he became President he referred to Africa as a "country"
I think the reason he dropped in that stupid comment was to show off that he has learned it is a continent. Apparently took five years. I wish the Daily Show would do a thing on it.
