The Vietnam W@ar paved the way for the rise of the Japanese
Steel industry. The War on Iraq is setting the stage for the rise of the IT and the auto industry in India and China. The deindustrialization of the U.S.will attain warp speed as the Iraq War keeps going.
Can you elaborate? IT was going to India long before the war for simple economic reasons. China has always had dreams of being a major auto manufacturer, and it's always been simply a matter of getting their quality control up to standards necessary for auto exportation. Neither of these things is related to Iraq.
2. The war as I see it is making the costs of doing business in the U.S.
even more prohibitive than it has to be. It is also increasing the demand for consumer goods and services that cannot be met because of the military's insatiable appetite that is 'crowding out' investments in the consumer sector. That is where Indi and China are sensing an opening for penetration of our markets.Even though what you say is true, that India and China were already the destinations for many of our corporate scoundrels, the momentum has been increased by the imperatives of this war.
