...so my guess would be the whole dominionist-fascist mutation of Christianity which is not only preached by Dobson/Falwell/the Colorado Springs contingent, but also exists in Catholicism as "Opus Dei", and particularly with the new Pope who brags of being an Opus Dei dominionist.

...sometimes I wonder if George W. believes it. It would certainly explain his actions, all designed to help bring Jay-sus back from the sky.

However, he hasn't won over much of the world, just America. Must be a local phenomena that affects the rest of the world.
