...I find it rather irritating when there is no explanation. It seems rather arbitrary sometimes. But I'm sure it's against the rules to say so.

of my desire for awful things to happen to G.Bush, at least I got an explanation.

2. Contact the administrators or moderators.

I had one of mine removed and asked why. Even though we were just discussing a CafePress product (slamming it for how awful it was), the product itself was deemed too inflammatory for DU even though the post and subsequent discussion complied with TOS so the entire thread was pulled. Can't hurt to ask.

4. I get posts deleted fairly regularly

but I don't worry about it. I've been known, in the heat of the moment, to say things that are a little over the top. I'm content to let the mods do their thing.

5. I've only had one post removed

I started a thread and no one responded so I responded to myself a couple times and - don't ask how - eventually threatened physical violence against myself. The post where I threated to kick my own a$$ was removed!

My experience with all the people I've worked with, here at DU, has indicated an atmosphere of respect, with a co-operation level rarely seen elsewhere.

11. The only post I've ever

had removed was when I used the word "skank" to describe Jenna Bush. Ironically, further down the thread, several other posters said the same, and worse, and their posts remained. That tells me it's sometimes pretty arbitrary.
