Chain Email About Iraq from Fundie
Here's a email someone sent me. After smirking I had to add my 2 cents. "Idle hands" I guess.
___________________________________________
Subject: from a serviceman's mother

Read down to the very bottom, you don't want to miss this! (I'm holding my breath)

VERY INTERESTING -

1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.

2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!

3. Noah built the ark in Iraq. (and put a sticky label on the bottom of the boat "Hand Made in Iraq")

4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq. !

5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq! (A Southern Man!)

6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq!

7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq. ("When Harry Met Sally" was in...not Iraq?)

8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq. (after the whale beached him of course)

9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel. (The other two fled to America according to the Book of Morman and became the ancestors of the people who knocked off Custer)

10. Amos cried out in Iraq! ("Where's my chocolate chip cookies!")

11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem. (Neither the first, nor the last)

12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq! (Roar Li-ons, let your voice be heard.... )

13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!) (Not exactly young'uns by that time, teenagers)

14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq. (May I have a vowel?)

15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq. (Neb was Bel's dad, that should be #14)

16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq. (and saw that UFO, a wheel within a wheel contraption? Or was that Isaiah?)

17. The wise men were from Iraq. (No, one came from China, One from Egypt just like on Christmas Cards!)

18. Peter preached in Iraq. (and where was Paul and Mary? Puffing that magic dragon no doubt)

19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq< I>! (Yes, we know that, you told us in #11)

And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? (Clue me in) It is Iraq! (No-o-o-o, do tell!) However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.

Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible. (Roots? Isn't that a TV show)

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq!

And also... This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible) (Oh, thanks for enlightening us on that but really it's the Quaran only 'mericans can't spell none too guud.)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the land! s of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

(Sure, better check your sources on that one since they've all been flushed down the john. Peace, just like that eh? Sorry to burst your bubble but there are more people of the Islamic faith than christians and the USA is not the only nation with an Eagle for a symbol--Nazi Germany used it too and they are still with us)

(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?! (Is that AM or PM?) God Bless you all Amen ! (don't forget the hallelujah)

I BETTER NOT HEAR OF ANYONE BREAKING THIS ONE OR SEE DELETED (or you'll what, send me to my room? Send the FBI after me? Spank me and call me Charlie?)

This is a ribbon for soldiers fighting in Iraq. Pass it on to everyone and pray. Something good will happen to you tonight at 11:11 PM This is not a joke. Someone will either call you or will talk to you online and say that they love you. Do not break this chain. Send this to 13 people in the next 15 minutes. Go. (Ribbon, smibbon, put one around your neck and do the tango)

2. Koran 9:11 a hoax
The quote is not from anywhere in the Koran (or Quran).
Chapter 9 verse 11 actually says "But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and we make the communications clear for a people who know." (M. H. Shakir translation)

8. Funny thing about this...there doesn't seem to really be Any Point to it.
I'm serious. Just a string of semi-important unverified 'facts' that can be taken any number of ways...leading up to no conclusion at all.

And the faux 9:11 Koran "quote" -- just the icing on the fairy cake.

It's not even a good screed.

Who knew the fundie e-mails could be so... :boring: ?
