I'm feeling the earth move under my feet. Downing St. is catching fire

KERRY SAYS:

"When I go back (to Washington) on Monday, I am going to raise the issue,"

he said of the memo, which has not been disputed by either the British or American governments. "I think it's a stunning, unbelievably simple and understandable statement of the truth and a profoundly important document that raises stunning issues here at home. And it's amazing to me the way it escaped major media discussion. It's not being missed on the Internet, I can tell you that."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Sorry to repost this here, but in my heart, I feel it bears
repeating. Tie this with Daily Kos organizing a daily barrage
of all its members into mass mailing to the mass media...

These little sparks will soon turn into a blazing bonfire....
DON'TCHA JUST FEEL IT????

or is that not legal with King Rove?

I can see it all now -

Husband:Have You Seen the Memo Martha?

Martha: What Memo?

Husband: The Downing Street Memo! Read this and cry for our country

Martha: I knew it all along... ( starts crying as she holds a picture of their departed soldier son)

Fade out and cut to a johnconyers.com frame

playing "My Country Tis Of Thee"In The Background

I can dream can't I?

6. You're right. We are being heard! We can NOT GIVE-UP! EVER!
Our country is worth fighting for.

They've taken our identity from us.
They've taken our privacy away.
They've taken our unity from us - nationwide.
They've taken our hope, love and honor away.
They've taken away our freedoms, bill of rights and Constitution.
They've taken our chance of filing bankruptcy if we fall prey along life's sad and very imperfect journey, giving full power to corporate america.

But they can't take away our last chance to be heard and our natural reaction of survival...

Ok... I'm done. Still sleepless in June.

4. the media have let us down on everything else
so I have little hope that they will let the minutes of that Downing Street meeting ever besmirch their half hour of propaganda, talking points, tabloid rubbish, and lying by omission.

They won't rock the boat, slow the GOP juggernaut, or bother informing the US public. If the Dems ever gain control again, they reason, their days of media monopoly may be over.

Not that Clinton did any thing about them, but you get the idea.

12. wowzers!!!!
The entire article suggest that we are being heard, not JUST about the DSM, but from Rep.Conyers hearings on media bias I believe the word is out that we are working to save our democracy & are desperately needing our elected officials to join in the fight!!!!

~~more from the article~~

Earlier in the day, Sen. Kerry met in a "town hall"-style meeting with about 75 seniors, where he assailed the recently passed Medicare prescription drug benefit, the GOP's tax cuts for wealthy Americans and the attempts to privatize Social Security.
He said to the largely supportive group, "The next time one of those conservative senators or congressmen comes to you and starts talking to you about American values, I want you to look him in the eye and say, what is the value that is represented in providing the wealthiest people in America with a great big tax cut at the expense of the poorest people in the country?"
"I went back and reread the New Testament the other day, and I've got news for you. Nowhere in the three-year ministry of Jesus Christ is there any suggestion at all that you ought to take from the poor and give to the rich and leave children at risk," he said to a loud round of applause.
Invoking the legacy of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the New Deal's "safety net," Sen. Kerry accused Mr. Bush and the GOP of misleading the public about Social Security and their intentions. "They're never telling the truth," he said.

BIG FUCKING KICK TO JOHN KERRY!!!

The media and e-voting are our two biggest problems if we start pushing them now we might be able to save this country from the Nazis.

This memo is a big fucking deal! And John Kerry pointing out the media's refusal to cover it makes our case that much stronger.

Fox News Ratings down 58% since Nov. The entire corporate media is hemoraging it's viewers, readers, listeners.

The tide is turning and if any of you Eeyores want to rain on my parade I'll tell you what I said in a post of mine a while ago. You need a hug.

23. Remember the Oscar speech?
We like nonfiction, yet we live in fictitious times. We live in a time where we have fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons. Whether it's the fiction of duct tape, or the fiction of orange alerts. We are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you. And any time you got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up. Thank you very much".

Hmm.. all those big time celebrity boo'ers should now be ashamed of themselves for their complicity in this international disaster for the good old USA!

Also, somebody tell that christo-zombie Baldwin brother to go 'Cheney' himself.

And if the media are returned to the people, I want all the pictures of the 6 millions of us who marched against the Iraq war before it began printed on front pages everywhere. Just as they should have been at the time! :grr:

I know it's not a priority but I still am angry every single day that I had to turn to tiny websites to see coverage of the ENTIRE WORLD erupting in united protest for peace. An UNPRECEDENTED event in human history - buried.

Oh jeez - there goes my blood-pressure yet again over this. :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :nuke:

29. And from Bob Herbert of NYT
Now, with George W. Bush in charge, the nation is mired in yet another tragic period marked by incompetence, duplicity, bad faith and outright lies coming once again from the very top of the government. Just last month we had the disclosure of a previously secret British government memorandum that offered further confirmation that the American public and the world were spoon-fed bogus information by the Bush administration in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq.

On the editorial page of the NYT! That's getting good.

35. Good. Though of course it didn't so much "escape" the media...
rather they ignored it. They are willfully ignorant at best - which is like saying Bush is incompetent. To me that's more a metaphore then truth.

Just look at what has "escaped" them during the past few decades, and who has benefited from it - there's a pattern there, and continuation of that pattern is not exactly "amazing".

The complicit media.
The corporate media.
The military-industrial complex's media.
The warmongering media.

The junta in the White House, that owns the media, is government of, by and for the so-called defense contractors. They don't protect us; they enslave us!

48. Kerry should go on Oprah and raise a
fuss abut Downing street. It might sound odd, but it is probably the easiest way to get the information spread through the country. Oprah's OK would give it more creditibility in the minds of Red State America than coming from the mouths of the "Liberal Media." Think she would do it? or if it would work? Just a thought. It would at least get it out there and have people, husbands included talking about it at the water cooler the next day.

I hope and PRAY, every day, for my sake, my son's sake, and the sake of every American and innocent Iraqi murdered in the name of this insanity, that you're right.

Please, God, let the truth come out.

61. It's about time....where has Kerry been?
WOOOOOOO! He's going to "raise the issue"!

I'm all for more big Democratic Party figures speaking up and out. The Downing Memo didn't exactly come out yesterday, however. The Downing memo is just one embarrassing aspect. Where's Kerry been? Hillary? Biden? Edwards? Gephardt? Lieberman? All these great Democrats that want to be our leaders, yet we have to beg, plead, petition, call, e-mail in the thousands before they do anything. We'll see what Kerry does Monday... then Tuesday, Wednesday, June, July, August.

Personally I'm a little more impressed with the Democrats that have been fighting constantly. Give me Reid, Boxer, Pelosi, Waxman, Conyers, Dean, to name a few.

The Bush junta may be feeling some strain but we are a long way from canning these bastards. Until Kerry get serious about taking some of these fuckers down I still keep him and others in the "talk is cheap" category.
