Why that Newsweek poll is so great ...
It's much more than Wesley Clark doing well. Several of our candidates are catching up to Bush, not just one.

http://www.pollingreport.com

It's becoming clear to me that we have multiple good candidates. So even if Clark fades the others will still be there to give Bush a run for his money. Bush's approval rating is 51 percent, but his disapproval is 42 percent, which is only an 9-point differential. His approval dropped 1 point from the last Newsweek poll, but his disapproval went up 3 points, which is the real news. And I have a strong feeling he hasn't come close to bottoming out.

2. Drudge
Another good thing is that Drudge has this as his main story, so now all the repugs will know who's about to kick there ass.

6. Me, too
I keep reading polls where his approval rating among Dems is in the 20s. I don't know a single Dem who can stand Bush.

11. In reality, Republicans hate him too
I've spoken with at least a dozen Republicans, some ex-military, and they are disgusted with Bush. I don't know what people like this are telling pollsters, maybe self-identifying as independents this time. I think the other side is going to have an awfully hard time getting people to the polls...

Our side, on the other hand, is gonna turn out like crazy for anybody who gets the nomination.

14. I agree, most of the republicans I know
are fairly moderate and they simply cannot stand *. Even the really conservative ones, like my boss (who actually isn't too bad, we have some good discussions and he's come around to the Dem view on some things), don't much care for him, either. And the military is really starting to turn against him, including veterans.

7. Why are the BSNBC and Newspeak polls so different?
If you take the MSRNC/Newsweak poll online @ MSNBC.com, the results of the online poll, when placed next to the published NW results, are much more anti-*? Shouldn't they be at least similar? Are there more "aware" people taking the online poll than those who are "randomly" selected by NW?

15. Self-selection....
The Newsweek poll is 'Scientific'. A supposedly random sampling of the public.

The online poll is a self-selected sample. Not meaningful -except- that the sample self-selecting seems to have shifted radically. Used to be that these polls were always wildly right-wing. Since the buildup to Iraq, this has shifted and many of the polls are radically anti-Bush.

Reflects where the passion lies.

9. That Clark poll blew my mind.
I was jaw to the floor when I caught that on the 24/7 that was on at the time. I suppose the "waiting game/face time gambit" paid off. Glad for Clark.

But, yeah, you're right! 43*'s numbers are down. I found the numbers on his handling of the economy of particular interest:

quote:
On the economy, Bush's approval rating fell to 38 percent, from 41 percent in the prior poll, and disapproval of his economic management skills leapt six percentage points, to 57 percent.

I expect our nominated candidate to win handily. The wind's changing and there's blood in the water. This is getting good.

100% Correct
We have to figure out what, precisely, we are doing right and keep doing it.

The worst possible tactic would be to play "defense".

good call...good insight!

12. 14 Months
Surely the BFEE can come up with some horrific disaster that can propel the Unelected Moron back into the high 80's within that time period, no?
