During this morning's Press Conference the President was asked about the delay in a confirmation vote for Mr. Bolton.
To refresh your memory, the vote for Mr. Bolton is scheduled for today or tomorrow, pending delivery from the White House of information requested to support his nomination. Even Senator Warner agreed that the vote should be postponed until the information was received from the Administration.
Bush's response to the question was to say that they weren't sending over the information because all the Senate was trying to do was delay the procedure. Now you really have to give it to the fellow. He never cracked a smile, never broke stride, never choked.
I was dumbfounded.
There was no follow-up question from the reporter on this convoluted logic.

|
The press is where the absurd behavior lies.
