Change America: Fighting Back Against the Great Pension Raid

Vowing to “give citizens the tools they need to change bad corporate behavior in their communities,” Internet activist Joe Trippi today launched a new campaign to “Change America.” Trippi unveiled the campaign Web site, www.changeamerica.com, in a conference call with the nation’s most influential bloggers, and announced the first project would put the spotlight on the corporate and political assault on Americans’ retirement security.

“Workers in this country are being deserted by their employers, and the government is either turning a blind eye or is facilitating the abandonment,” Trippi said as he introduced flight attendants who are in danger of having their pensions “dumped” by United Airlines management, which shielded its own pensions – golden parachutes, actually – from bankruptcy proceedings.
