Military Families Speak Out ... DU Vets please read!
Please check out this site, especially VETS and anyone that has family in the military. Some posters there say they are afraid to speak out. If they oppose the war they fear that their family members will think that they do not support them. Let know its OK to oppose the war, especially if they love them. They can do both! I was a member of the Naval Expeditionary Forces that were in Beirut. I'm still asking, what the hell were we doing there and what good did it do. Most people did not even know what was happenning over there, most still do not know what happened over there or why. They call the Korean War the Forgotten War. Beirut was the "Never Heard of War". So log on and give them your support, and think of the support Dubya will be losing!

Military Families Speak Out is an organization of people who are opposed to war in Iraq and who have relatives or loved ones in the military. We were formed in November of 2002 and have contacts with military families throughout the United States, and in other countries around the world.

As people with family members and loved ones in the military, we have both a special need and a unique role to play in speaking out against war in Iraq. It is our loved ones who will be on the battlefront. It is our loved ones who will risk injury and death. It is our loved ones who will return scarred from having injured innocent Iraqi civilians.

If you have family members or loved ones in the military and you are opposed to this war, join us. Send us an e-mail at [email protected] .

3. I am saving this passage
from a fathers letter:

A dad in Florida says, "the overwhelming support for Bush and this war is the result of ignorance on the part of the American people…how much support would have been forthcoming if Bush had made a national television appearance and said, `Iraq was not involved in the 9/11 attacks; while they may have some weapons of mass destruction, they are not an imminent threat to the security of the United States. Nonetheless, for reasons I do not care to share with you, the citizens of this country, I have ordered an invasion of Iraq to take place forthwith."

Thanks for the link.

5. Not too many!,,,Ergo, the lies.
ANd the drumbeat of not letting up until the day they bombed Iraq!

And to what purpose,,the oil and the pnac strategy of placement in the Middle East where our kids are getting killed!

snip>>

"I regret to report that the Florida Young Democrats lost one of our own this past week in Iraq. Jeff Wershow, a member of the Alachua County Young Democrats and Florida National Guardsman, was killed last Sunday by a lone gunman at Baghdad University. He was 22 years old" snip>

13. MAy this young man...
and his family find peace.

But it is difficult....there was no justification for this war. Perhaps bush should go to Baghdad, but he is a coward. The brave ones are already there.

Support our troops.....bring them home.

6. I think more and more military service members and their
fmailies are coming to realize just what a rotten, sour bill of goods they were sold as to why it was "necessary" to invade Iraq, and that they put their lives on the line to feed the insatiable greed and egotistical megalomania of the Bushista Cabal, and no other reason. They may currently be afraid to speak out in large numbers, but once they realize they're not alone I think the WH will see a huge tidal wave overtaking them.

8. Awesome- thank you!
Cute moniker.

I'll register and post. This is no time to be silent- not with the rigged electronic voting machines that will pretend Bush got 99% of the military/vet vote when we all know there's no way in hell that he ever will!

Peace and thanks

9. Off subject....
But maybe someone here can answer this question?

Is it true the Reserve troops are supplied by private contractors, contractors like Halliburton, et al?

If true...that would explain why so many Reserve troops are serving...means more bizz and more money for the private contractors.

11. WRITE TO THIS BOY!
Here is an addie to a discouraged soldier from the
military families speak out website. His mail is
hit and miss but perhaps a message to him to be
shared by his friends too will be nice.

who were sent to fight a needless war by a chickenhawk leader. Also, those innocent Iraqi men, women and children caught up in this senseless slaughter. God help us.

15. Military families stateside MUST
make a concerted effort to get the REAL CASUALTY NUMBERS out there. The *misanthropics are expert at obfuscating the toll on the nation. Service people are being egregiously USED by those who couldn't give a shit about them or their families. The info is there and it's outrageous. It simply needs to be consolidated.
