According to history, Gore will win in '08
Think of Gore as Nixon: Both were young vice-presidents who served under a popular moderate (Ike and Clinton), but lost in a close race when they tried to run themselves. Both lack charisma and a sense of leadership, and they both sucked at the presidential debates. The next eight years after their defeat (JFK/LBJ and now Bush) are marked by war, domestic problems and uncertainty. Nixon returned to the national scene during the '66 elections when he helped the Republicans gain some Congressional seats, and it remains to be seen if Gore will do the same. I suppose that if history were to follow an exact course, Jeb Bush will be assasinated when he tries to run in '08 and the Republican convention will be marked by violent protests (that's actually a possiblity).

1. I wonder
I remember hearing rumors of him running for something earlier this year. Anybody know anything?

2. Don't get me wrong....
I like Gore, campaigned and of course voted for him. However, his day is done. We need a fresh face.

4. I disagree strongly
The election was stolen from Gore. If he had been allowed to take what was rightfully his, there's no way in hell we'd be in this mess. He's the best man for the job, and should be allowed the opportunity to show it.

5. I respect that.....
Difference of opinion without throwing insults at one another is good, should be the American way.

9. Gore/Kerry
The ticket that we should have had in 2000 anyway. What we mostly need to stop doing is letting the media and the right wing tell us who we do and don't like. Why should the people care about election scandals when nobody really wanted the guy to be president anyway.

10. I love my JK, but in the interest of fairness, (and goodness)
why the hell not? And WORD on that ticket being the one we SHOULD have had in 2000. I had completely spaced the predictions on JK being AG's running mate back then, and was fascinated to learn recently about how close we came to that potentiality. That could still work, if you ask me.

3. Why would Jeb be assassinated?
Unless his own family turns against him.

6. Know any Floridians?
The sane ones down there Hate. His. Guts. The man probably has better security than his brother (or his father, for that matter). And wasn't he only a stone's throw away from getting run over by that guy who tried to kill Kathrine Harris last summer?

8. He's Bush's brother
Think of him as Bobby Kennedy (not that I would ever compare Bobby to that turd burglar).

11. Which is what I posted...?

Is that not what my post says? Am I on drugs again?

ETA: Oh, you may have meant that no matter how much people hate Jeb, he's of roughly the same value RFK was to Kennedy. Except, well, I still think Jeb's more hated by his opponents than RFK was, and has gotten himself into WAY more trouble than Bobby did in his day.

12. No, I understand the reference to RFK
What I don't understand is why the people who killed RFK (and his brother) would kill Jeb Bush. Since both were likely Bush Criminal Empire hits.

7. Well, if you believe these folks, victory in '08 belongs to Kerry...
Edited on Mon May-30-05 12:43 AM by BlueIris
...as the reincarnated soul of Andrew Jackson. Believe what you want, and I'm posting this in only half-seriousness, (sort of--I've got my own feelings about '08 and Kerry and they're quite optimistic) but I dare anyone not to blink when looking at both the physical and historical parallels between Jackson and Kerry. Spooky, no?
