If none of these contacts are in your area contact your local (Canada too) church, mosque, synagogue, newspaper, Amnesty International group, university calendar of events, local events website, etc. and find out which events/vigils/actions are taking place on Darfur in your neck of the woods in June & July.

What: A day of prayer and vigil for the seven activists who were arrested on February 2nd at the Sudanese embassy for protesting against genocide in Darfur.
Event details:
- Mass for an End to Genocide in Darfur, celebrated by Bishop Thomas Gumbleton. 7 am, St. Aloysius Church, 900 North Capital St, NW, Washington D.C.
- Procession to Superior Court, leaving St. Aloysius at 7:40 am.
- Trial of seven activists who were arrested on February 2 at the Sudanese embassy for protesting against genocide in Darfur. 9 am, Superior Court, Room 120, 500 Indiana Ave, NW, Washington, D.C.
- Vigils Against the Darfur Genocide, outside the courthouse throughout the trial, and at the White House from 5:30-6:30 pm.

What:The American Refugee Committee's 2005 Speaker Series presents: "Dr. Kristian R. Olson, Extreme Vulnerability and Impressive Resilience: Providing Health Care to Displaced Persons in Darfur & on the Thai-Burmese Border."
Dr. Kristian (Kris) R. Olson will describe Refugee Medicine with examples from the American Refugee Committee's work in Thailand and Darfur, Sudan. Given the breadth of activities in both locations, his clear, "on the ground" description of Darfur will be one you won't want to miss.

What:A Benefit Concert at Northsix: local Brooklyn musicians The Fatales, Kevin Devine, and Jeffrey Lewis (Rough Trade) will be playing a concert to benefit the Save Darfur Coalition and International Rescue Committee. These are two of the primary organizations spreading awareness and providing relief for the genocide happening in Sudan. The purpose of the concert is to bring heightened awareness to a crisis that remains relatively dormant in the public mind. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards the provision of blankets, clothing, canned rations, and first aid supplies.

What: "DEATH AND DESTRUCTION IN THE HUMAN DIMENSION AND THE MORAL IMPERATIVE" - This Panel Discussion will address the humanitarian, human rights, and political complexities of the crisis in Darfur. This includes an in-depth exploration of the plight of the affected civilian population, applicable human rights standards, and responses from individual countries, the United Nations, and community-based interest groups.

What: We will recognize the United Nations International Day of Peace with a special emphasis on Sudan. Speakers will discuss current Sudan issues including religion, economics, war, and refugees. Traditional Sudanese food will be served. There will also be an opportunity to see and participate in traditional Sudanese dancing.

* September 21st, Boston, USA: Consciousness-raising Community Event.
What: During the Amnesty International Day of Action for Sudan (Tuesday, September 21st), Christian Activists United for Social and Ecological Justice (CAUSE Justice) at the Boston University School of Theology will be working to pass out information, pre-printed postcards (addressed to President al-Bashir), and gathering signatures on a petition.
Where: Marsh Plaza, Boston University (approx. 740 Commonwealth Avenue).

4. Excellent. We hope to get updated listings of events. The network
is so huge - it may take some digging. But well worth it. And let us hope that the peace talks really change the corner of events.
