bush might "recess appoint" Bolton?
from www.newshounds.us / (
We Watch Fox News So You Don't Have To)

from last night:

"At 6:42pm Hume said that 40 Senators "have now voted to keep the filibuster against Bolton going" & the "All-Stars" (MKondracke, CKrauthammer, JBirnbaum) started in. Kondracke said the "buzz on the Hill" is that Bush "might recess appoint" Bolton, which would be a "big slap at" Dems in the Senate, but Bush will say it was the Dems "who broke comity." Hume showed the letter from Biden & Dodd, & Birnbaum tried to joke that "only in Washington" is a filibuster not a filibuster, noting that after this "grand compromise" the "era of good feeling lasted 3 days." Krauthammer said this "tells us the great agreement was phony" because the Dems "have no ideas on these issues ... nothing to offer ... they are obstructionists." There was more discussion of the documents . Kondracke said the Dems "hope these documents will be explosive" & characterized the request as "fishing." Hume picked up that theme, asking if the Dems want to "get evidence to destroy the nomination." Krauthammer sneered that the demand to see the docs is an "instument of blackmail." Kondracke pointed out that it's been "done by both sides for years." Hume quickly avoided that, saying there's a "vast array of charges" against Bolton, a "lot of testimony" & asking whether the evidence supported the case against him. Birnbaum dismissed it all as a disagreement about "how to deal with the UN", saying the Dems want a "softer stance" while GOPs want a "harder edge."

1. I really hope this happens. Maybe it will awaken the Dems and the rest
of the country to just how un-democratic this regime is and how evil.

5. NO way!
If he recess appoints his fellow idiot he takes the heat all alone when he f*cks up. Let Senators who confirm him take the heat too. Especially those up for re-election. Instead of giving them the bailout that they didn't vote to confirm him knowing full well they would have.

9. LOL they probably are on the upper floors since day one of the UN
because the US is one of the major players (with Russia/China/GB).

3. Bastard.
If there wasn't anything "explosive" in the fucking documents they wouldn't be hiding them. HOW THE HELL DO WE TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT? The repukes obstruct justice and break the damn laws at will! The people have to take this on, I'm afraid. :nuke: :grr:

11. RWinger hypocrisy knows no bounds.
The filibuster has two segments, one for any appointments or bills and another for justices. This is not a filibuster. It's a legit call for docs that should be reviewed.

12. This is assinine
Evidently, even Dick Luger of the Repub leadership seems to think that the documents in question have some bearing on this. He is one of the Senators insisting that these documents need to be brought forward.
