2. Excellent!
This confirms my experience with Australians in general. They're very laid back overall, and while they are more than willing to take up arms for a just reason, they don't take kindly to being drawn into someone else's folly.

3. thanks for your kind observation
many marched against the war over here and we remain commited to peace..the problem for howard is, I believe Bush is coming to ask for troops..we suffered no casualties during the combat stage of the invasion..the dilemma for howard is 1) how to say no 2)the massive public backlash when our first soldier arrives home in a bodybag..

5. Dubya's gonna find that he's not welcome in NYC in Sept 2004

That Republican idea to exploit 9/11 by hosting their convention there might not work out so well. Hopefully, New Yorkers will be able to mount several massive but peaceful demonstrations to express their true regard for Bush-lite and his insane policies - policies that have only made New Yorkers even more of a target, rather than less.

6. Frankly, I am surprised...
I figured Australia to be even more conservative and war-crazy than contemporary America. On the other hand, if Americans were asked if they welcomed Chimpy, I wonder what the numbers would be? Probably very close to Australia.
