1. This is as close as I could get -
Bush believes he was called by God to lead the nation at this time, says Commerce Secretary Don Evans, a close friend who talks with Bush every day. His history degree from Yale makes him mindful of the importance of the moment. He knows he's making "history-changing decisions," Evans says. But Bush doesn't keep a diary or other personal record of the events that will form his legacy. Aides take notes, but there's no stenographer in most meetings, nor are they videotaped or recorded.

Bush copes with anxiety as he always has. He prays and exercises. Evans says his friend has a placid acceptance of challenges that comes from his Christian faith.

"He knows that we're all here to serve a calling greater than self," Evans says. "That's what he's committed his life to do. He understands that he is the one person in the country, in this case really the one person in the world, who has a responsibility to protect and defend freedom."

Commander Cuckoo Bananas isn't that deep. Committed his life to serve a calling greater than self? Was this decision made after he came out of his drug/drunken decades long stupor? Ah yes, "born again" bush. bu$h along with the rest of his thug family are committed to their own bottom line and not much more then that.

10. Placid acceptance: this is scary,..what ever happens is gods will?? and he
is calm, AND UNATTACHED !! and pleased because he can do no wrong because god is leading him... they call that Schitzophrenia. I read that after the war started they would find him face down on the floor, arms spread in the oval office..Praying. probably just F'n passed out drunk.

I really thik that the poor man is mentally ill. the worst part is that if he is being maintained on drugs and it gets worse the Rove and Rummy will off him to to keep the plot from being revieled..

2. I'm Waiting For Postcards From The Edge
My favorite religious argument stopper and ender..."prove it".

I hear he talks to god every time he messes up his Nintendo...Pickles claims he screams "Jesus" a lot.

6. That makes me think that when the President talks to God, it is
scripted. And God's questions are provided by Rove.

13. you know, this is pretty Profound....
...- in a twisted way- i've read alot about * and his 'conversion' and 'religion'- he didn't hear 'god' say he should be president- Barbara Bush did- and said to little george after a sermon
in church about God calling Moses "he was talking to YOU"- (he was telling * to run for president)

and listen to the way * talks about his mom- it's ereerie..... but i think you are onto something-

Lots of people talk to God- (especially when we are hurting, scared, or joyous) most of us don't put others voices in HIS mouth-...

(am i making any sense here???)

5. When is not the question, what they talk about is.......

<snip>
"When the President Talks to God"

When the president talks to God
Are the conversations brief or long?
Does he ask to rape our women's' rights
And send poor farm kids off to die?
Does God suggest an oil hike
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
Are the consonants all hard or soft?
Is he resolute all down the line?
Is every issue black or white?
Does what God say ever change his mind
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
Does he fake that drawl or merely nod?
Agree which convicts should be killed?
Where prisons should be built and filled?
Which voter fraud must be concealed
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
I wonder which one plays the better cop
We should find some jobs. the ghetto's broke
No, they're lazy, George, I say we don't
Just give 'em more liquor stores and dirty coke
That's what God recommends

When the president talks to God
Do they drink near beer and go play golf
While they pick which countries to invade
Which Muslim souls still can be saved?
I guess god just calls a spade a spade
When the president talks to God

When the president talks to God
Does he ever think that maybe he's not?
That that voice is just inside his head
When he kneels next to the presidential bed
Does he ever smell his own bullshit
When the president talks to God?

I doubt it

I doubt it

8. Sorry to diverge, but I have to ask -- how did this get on the Leno
show? I haven't watched it (or wanted to watch it) in years. I'm very surprised to hear that they would have this song airing there.

12. There was a rumor that Conan changed which song he was to perform
but when you listen to the intro, Leno says he will sing his new protest song. I love the way that kid says, "When the president..... talks to God..." LOL! Too funny.
