Nick and Jessica in Iraq - HORRIBLE!

The show that ran last night on ABC was one of the worst, lamest "entertain the troops" specials I've ever seen. Say what you will about Bob Hope - and he had his flaws - but when he went to Vietnam and other places, he spent a lot of his time in the critical wards. He took his tour's celebrities to see the burn victims and amputees to try and cheer them up.

But this bimbo and her husband...lip-synching their lame music, letting the hubby fly a jet figher for a few seconds, doing a "Queen for a Day" reunion...Not only was it untrue to the war, it must have been purgatory for the troops who saw the show. (And who were probably ordered to applaud the lame act.)

If Nick and Jessica had performed in Abu Gareb, it would beat the flushing of the Koran as an offense against humanity.

3. I remember hearing about this

I didn't watch and was watching "Two and a Half Men" instead. I read a review of it someone made a post and apparently the whole thing was just a fake thing. Apparently they were having a reunion between a husband and wife (the husband was serving duty) but the wife was running late and they couldn't wait for her to come so they got some woman to protray the man's wife. If it was real I might have watched but since the whole thing was a phoney then I wouldn't give them the satisfiaction of raitings.

I'm one of those people who hasn't watched television or listened to commercial radio in several years. As such, I have no idea who Nick and Jessica are. They sound awfully cute, but who are they?

She's sort of pretty, but it's hypocritical to me that she went on VH1 a while back in a "Jessica Simpson profile" and complained that the Christian rock industry didn't take her seriously and so, by implication, she was forced to sell out to the mainstream pop industry, so now she dresses and performs lewdly, and I'm just like, huh? I thought you were moral Christian?

14. Word from a friend of mine at the concert

they had to perform some songs up to 3 TIMES to get all the camera angles and shots they wanted. Constant re-shoots for the intros to the songs - Jessica cant read cue cards well, apparently.

A lot of people attending were not very happy - bussed in for 'mandatory fun'.

No mention of fake husbands or wives, though. I'll have to ask.

Everything is appreciated here in Baghdad. The thing is, over 90% of soldiers on frontline don't get to see these acts. You know who gets to see them? Soldiers who work as logisticians at the airport because every entertainer is scard shitles to take a ride down that HWY 8 and to visit all of us that are taking mortars, rockets and IEDs every day in Sadr City, Downtown and so on.

Baghdad Airport is just like US. Soldiers are swiming, getting a tan by the lake, eating real food, getting entertainers to come and visit them. It's not the reality of Iraq. Hell,if it isn't for some humvees riding around, you'd think you're back in the States.
