This morning on the Today Show Matt Lauer made the statement that a few weeks ago we thought there might be another 9/11. He was referencing the plane that flew into rescrited terrioty. This event did not make me think about 9/11. When I heard about it I was not thinking is this another 9/11. I just do not see why Lauer made the statement.

Seems like to me it's been that way a long time. Such as the "saving Private Lynch" story, the pulling down the Saddam statue charade, etc.

Sounds like to me Lauer was doing the usual media hype nonsense. Every breeze is a 50 mph wind, everything is a crisis, etc.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if another 9/11 incident happens.
I hope it doesn't, but....it wouldn't surprise me.

Lauer hasn't been in our world for a long time. Neither has most of these airheads and talking heads. They live in that little box...part of the pictures and story of that box...not of the reality that most of us face every day.

Matt doesn't need to worry about health insurance...he's got a nice one with GE. He doesn't need to figure how to make the paycheck last the month...just which new Jaguar would match his Armani suits. He doesn't need to deal with an affects of an illegal, immoral war other than at arm's length since he'll never serve and the closest he'll get to action will be a star-studded PR tour. War's aren't real...they're video games...and reality means little.

There's still a major myopia by the New York media (followed not to far by the beltway ones) that they were being attacked on 9/11...thus why so many sound so stident about this. I guess my world would be really rocked if I saw the actual flames and smelt the smoke that day. It's like how JFK's assasination make profound changes in many people in that time.
