Plane scare.... another diversion tactic?
Was this their way of trying to divert from the Filibuster compromise that was in the works?

Senate Briefly Recesses After Plane Scare

WASHINGTON - The Senate recessed for a brief period Monday night after an unidentified plane entered Washington's restricted airspace, two weeks after another airplane caused emergency evacuations of the White House and Capitol.

The pilot of the earlier plane has now lost his license as an "unacceptable risk to safety," the Federal Aviation Administration said earlier in the day.

There was no evacuation on Monday. The private Cessna was intercepted by military jets and later landed in Gaithersburg, Md., north of the capital, the Transportation Security Administration said.

At the Capitol, where senators were heading into an all-night debate over filibusters and judicial nominations, Republican leader Bill Frist called for a recess just after 6 p.m. EDT and left the chamber. Others present did not leave.

1. Ya know, I thought the same thing
Either this newest pilot is too stupid, or doesn't keep up on current events (about the last incident).

2. Just after Fristian called for the Sgt of Arms to "request" all the
Senators to be in the chamber. I thought it was weird. Almost the perfect opportunity, right in the middle of the nightly newscast to 1) show everyone how we "need" the Republicans to save us from terror and 2) maybe even for Shrub to do something dramatic so that he could look like a leader after missing the last opportunity and his previous performance with My Pet Goat.

Unfortunately for Fristian, the dealmakers were still in the back room cutting his legs out from under him, and weren't there to be a part of the "evacuation".

4. if the WH was under real threat from the air, we wouldn't be hearing it
Edited on Mon May-23-05 07:57 PM by Skip Intro
everything, EVERYTHING, said or done by this regime is timed for maximum, optimal effect. They know how to manipulate a big segment of our population with this kind of stuff. Mass behavioral manipulation. Tho it seems to be working less and less well.

If the WH was under some threat, or some threat had been arrested, in real life, they wouldn't be bragging about their failure to keep us safe. There's an ulterior motive for it. There's an ulterior motive for everything bush does, every "event."

Where's my protection bush? Where are my F16s?

sorry....

So what's the threat level today?
